在英国公学中,House制度是一个颇负盛名的传统特征,它已经超越了字面上“住所”的含义和物理特性,成为了英式教育中的一个重要文化概念。


每一个House相当于学校统筹管理下的一个群体,在这个群体内,我们能提供更高的师生比,给予每一位学生更个性化的的规划指导、更细心体贴的人文关怀,以及更高频的互动交流、沟通与倾听。

In British public schools, the House system is a well-known traditional feature, which has gone beyond the literal meaning and physical characteristics of "residence" to become an important cultural concept in British education.


Each House is equivalent to a group under the overall management of the school. Within this group, we can provide a higher teacher-student ratio, give each student more personalized planning guidance, more careful and considerate humanistic care, and more High-frequency interaction, communication and listening.



延续百年英伦传统


圣比斯(东莞)作为英国百年名校圣比斯公学在中国直接创立的第一个海外学习中心,不单单传承了纯正的英式精英教育,提供高中IGCSE和A Level课程,而且还沿袭了传统特色的House制度。

St Bees Dongguan, as the first overseas learning center directly established by the UK St Bees school, a famous British school with centuries of history, not only inherits the pure British elite education, but also provides British high school IGCSE and A Level courses, and follows the traditional House system.

每一位学生、老师、教职工来到圣比斯后,都会被分配到不同院舍,在校期间一直归属于这一院舍,参加各种活动和学习。每个House通过符号、标识或者颜色加以区分,院舍名称是根据历史著名校友,重要人物或其他相关元素而商定的。


在这里我们有四大院舍:贝加BEGA,伊丽莎白ELIZABETH,基石FOUNDATION,格林德尔GRINDAL,每一个院舍都有专属的院徽、院旗和颜色。在学校活动中,学生大都以院舍成员的身份参加,因此对院舍拥有强烈的归属感和荣誉感,甚至在毕业以后仍然会认定自己是院舍的一份子。

After each student, teacher, and staff come to St Bees Dongguan, they will be assigned to a different house, and they will always belong to this house during their time with us and participate in various activities and studies. Each house is distinguished by a symbol, logo or colour. The name of the house is based upon historically famous alumni, important figures or other relevant elements.


Here at St Bees Dongguan, we have four houses: BEGA, ELIZABETH, FOUNDATION, GRINDAL, and each house has its own emblem, flag, and color. In school activities, students mostly participate as members of the house, so they have a strong sense of belonging and honor to the house, and even after graduation, they will still consider themselves a member of that house.



均衡发展的House制度


“平衡”是英式教育中的重要理念,院舍制度自然而然也秉持这一特性。圣比斯(东莞)在进行院舍分配时,为了保持院舍之间的平衡性和促进多样性,我们采取随机分配的形式,当然有时也会根据学生的情况和需求特殊分配,以提供最适合的指导。


院舍制还将不同年级的学生汇聚到了同一个大家庭,高年级的学长学姐照顾和支持低年级的学弟学妹,低年级的学生学习高年级学长的言行举止,彼此保持良性的平衡与纵向的互动沟通,对于专业学习、升学规划乃至职场工作的影响都是深远的。

"Balance" is an important concept in British education, and the house system naturally upholds this feature. To maintain the balance among the house and promote diversity, St Bees Dongguan adopts the form of random allocation. Of course, sometimes special allocations are made according to the situation and needs of students, to provide the best suitable guidance.


The house system also brings students together of different grades into the same big family. The seniors in the upper grades take care of, and support, the juniors, and the students in the lower grades learn the words and deeds of the seniors and maintain a healthy balance with each other. This type of interaction and communication have far-reaching impacts on major studies, further education planning, and even future work.

每周三学校会开展院舍比赛,涵盖体育运动、专业学识、趣味知识等方面,发展学生学术成就的同时兼顾性格特征培养,也就是情商和智商均衡发展。


与此同时,各院舍在比赛中相互竞争、相互学习,团队精神、兄弟情谊、以及领导力也逐步形成。

Every Wednesday, the school will hold a house competition, covering sports, professional knowledge, quizzes, etc., to help students develop academic achievements while considering the cultivation of personality characteristics, that is, the balanced development of EQ and IQ, and when each house competes with each other in the competition,mutual learning, team spirit, brotherhood, and leadership are gradually formed.



本周院舍躲避球比赛


本周我们在学生礼堂举办了英国传统体育项目躲避球比赛。四大院舍两两进行6V6比赛,双方球员各据一边,利用场内的软球投掷对方,被击中者即出局,若成功接住投来的软球,则投掷的球员出局。


比赛中,我们采用了柔软的圆球以保证学生的安全,同时也给参赛选手增加了难度和趣味。

This week we hosted a traditional English dodgeball match in the auditorium. There is a 6 vs 6 game between the four houses. Players from both sides will use the soft ball on the court to throw at each other. Those who were hit are out. If the soft ball is successfully caught, the player who throws the ball is out. In the competition, we used a soft ball to ensure the safety of the students, but also to increase the difficulty and fun for the contestants.

首先进行的是女子组比赛,选手们在比赛前进行了战术沟通,提醒投来的球如何躲避和接住以及确定谁是对方的主力队员并商量如何优先淘汰等等。


“嘟——!”随着一声清脆响亮的哨声,比赛正式开始。“往左边!右边右边!跳!”场上的参赛选手激动地叫喊着、奔跑着,通过灵敏的反应、准确的投掷、接球,以及出色的闪躲,争取为自己的院舍拿下比赛。场外学生们、老师们组成的后援团也丝毫不逊色,纷纷喊起整齐划一的口号,为队员们加油助威,欢呼声呐喊声此起彼伏,经过几轮比拼伊丽莎白院舍以微弱的优势拿下了女子组的胜利。

First, the female's group competition was held. The players had tactical communication before the competition, reminding them how to dodge and catch the ball, determining who was the main player of the other side and discussing how to eliminate her first.


"Tweet -!" With a clear and loud whistle, the game officially began. "Left! Right! Right! Jump!" The contestants on the field shouted and ran excitedly, striving to win the game for their own house through sensitive reactions, accurate throwing, catching and excellent dodging. The backup group composed of students and teachers outside the playing field. They shouted slogans one after another to cheer for the house members. Cheers and shouts came one after another. After several rounds of competition, Elizabeth house won the female's group by a narrow margin.

紧接着进行的是男子组比赛,相对于温柔的女同学,男同学们与生具备的运动天赋给我们带来的是一种暴力美学,哨声响起的瞬间便纷纷冲到中线捡起软球投掷到对方身上,进攻火力相当凶猛,贝加与格林德尔院舍仅耗时两分钟便结束了比赛!


活动的高潮出现在伊丽莎白对阵基石的总决赛上,Steven同学在1V6的情况下绝境大翻盘带领伊丽莎白院舍进入决赛,对方同样是队友先后被淘汰了的Jack同学,最后Jack在躲开球的瞬间成功击中了Steven,为基石院舍拿下了男子组的桂冠。


本周的院舍比赛也在同学们的欢呼雀跃声中完满地落下帷幕,让我们期待下一周更有趣的活动吧!

Then there was the male's group competition. Compared with the gentle female students, the male students who are more athletic, brought us a kind of violent aesthetics. At the moment the whistle was blown, they rushed to the middle line to pick up the soft ball and throw it onto the other side. The offensive firepower was quite fierce. It took only two minutes for Bega and Grindal to end the competition!

The climax of the competition occurred in the finals between Elizabeth and Foundation. Steven led Elizabeth house into the finals in a desperate situation in the case of 1 vs 6. On the other side was Jack, whose teammates had been eliminated one after another. After many times of to-and-fro, Jack finally hit Steven at the moment he was dodging the ball, winning the crown of the male's group for Foundation house.


Finally, this week's house competition came to a successful conclusion with the cheers of the students. Let's look forward to more interesting activities and wonderful student performances next week!
