ASJ (Dongguan) had the honour to welcome Dr. Chan Man-hung, an eminent Chinese historian, also a famous publisher in Hong Kong and one of the advisors and authors of Seeing China, to give a talk to our young students on learning Chinese history and passing on the excellent traditional Chinese cultures on May 18 International Museum Day.

5月18日是“国际博物馆日”，当天下午，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校有幸迎来中国历史研究学者、香港著名出版人、《看见中国》出版顾问和作者之一的陈万雄博士，为青少年学生们带来如何学习中国历史、如何传承中华优秀传统文化的分享讲座。

During the talk, Dr. Chan not only showed a large number of pictures of precious cultural relics and historical materials, but also shared with the students his own story of how he became connected with history. During the communication session, Dr Chan kindly answered the students' questions on "historical facts and fiction in the Four Great Classical Novels" and "how to learn history efficiently". He encouraged the students to develop an interest in learning history so that they can learn from historical facts to make the right choices in the future.

陈万雄博士在讲座中不仅展示了大量珍贵的文物与史料的照片，还向学生们分享了自己与历史结缘的故事，在互动交流环节，陈博士亲切地回答了同学们有关“四大名著中的史实与虚构”、“如何学好历史学科”等问题，同时鼓励同学们学好历史，以古鉴今，照亮未来的人生选择。

The book Seeing China: The Five Thousand Years in Cultural Relics has more than 4,000 high-resolution photos of selected cultural relics, and thousands of cultural treasures, important archaeological sites and historical restoration scenes are perfectly presented in 10 fascicles, transforming Chinese civilisation from an abstract historical term into a concrete image that can be seen. Such illustrated, vivid and interesting history books can make today's young people more interested in learning history.

据了解，《看见中国：文物里的上下五千年》一书精选了4000多张高清文物照片，以10大分册完美展现了数千件文物珍宝、重要考古场地和历史还原场景，让中华文明从抽象的历史名词转变为亲眼可见、触手可及的具体形象。这样图文并茂、生动有趣的历史读物能使现在的年轻人更有兴趣了解历史。
