点燃学习热情,BMH英语沉浸周精彩回顾!| English Immersion Week

随着深圳火热六月的到来,BMH一年一度的英文沉浸周也落下帷幕。英语沉浸周,是让学生们在纯外籍教师的环境里,体验文化的多样性,用英语母语者的思维来看待世界。


在刚刚过去的一周里,他们在老师带领下,在校内外完成了什么样的项目呢?来看看这些英语学习的快乐时光吧~



P1

一年级


一年级的英语沉浸周活动是围绕 "想象力 "这一主题设计的,颜色、动物和水果都是点燃学生想象力的主题。学生们通过参与角色扮演、歌曲、烹饪等不同的艺术和体育活动,用有趣和全员参与的方式提高他们的英语口语和学习更多的英语词汇。




P2

二年级


二年级的学生则在戏剧老师的指引下参与研究和拍摄公益广告,以提高他们对日常生活中的重要问题的认识。他们学习了如何吸引观众,陈述事实,并呼吁他人采取行动,为一个更美好的世界带来积极变化。



有趣的英语课堂则充斥着学生们的“超级英雄”梦,他们构建了自己的超英宇宙,为自己寻找到了新的英雄身份。




P3

三年级


三年级的主题则飞上太空,学生们以亲手制作一个独一无二的火箭活动开启了一周,紧接着他们探索了行星、宇宙以及探索过宇宙的宇航员和动物们。学生们都很喜欢这个有趣的单元,也将继续学习这个主题,发现更多的未知。






P4

四年级


四年级的学生们在英语沉浸周开始一个新的基于项目的学习(PBL)冒险,这个项目专注于空间和行星,我们的学生以一种创造性的和亲自制作的方式了解我们的太阳系。在这个项目中,我们的学生建造了一个太阳系的透视图,这将使他们能够探索每个星球的独特特征,并加深他们对我们宇宙的理解。学生们将通过合作,发挥他们的想象力和创造力,使他们的透视画成为现实。


在英语数学课上,学生们则研究了 "彩绘立方体 "问题,培养了他们的等距绘图和规则查找技能。他们还完成了一个序列问题表,并尝试了交叉数字问题。


除此之外,四年级的学生还进行了攀岩探险,这次活动很好地结合了我们的探究单元--岩石,同时也是他们儿童节的特殊礼物。在这一天里,学生们学习了室内攀岩的技能和技巧,并一起制定了最有效的攀岩路线。





P5

五年级


五年级的学习重点是地理和了解我们周围的世界。学生们从地球上的特定区域(赤道、半球、热带和两极)以及位于这些区域的国家的线条开始。他们研究了不同半球和赤道上的国家,并向同伴介绍了关于这些区域的有趣的事实。


接下来,他们开始阅读地图,学习阅读图例的技能,以识别不同层次的地面,并了解山脉形成的主要特征,如山谷、山顶、山脚和山坡。孩子们以小组为单位,了解世界各地的山脉,最后他们进行了非常有竞争性的Kahoot山脉知识测验。






P6&S7

六及七年级


在英语数学课上,学生研究了序列和寻找期数、位置规则的方法以及骷髅塔的问题,学生们学会用等高线、平面、正面和侧面来表示塔。学生们面临的挑战是如何找到100层高的塔的块数的一般规则。

图书馆课程


图书馆课程老师则带领一到三年级的学生欣赏外国作家的写作风格,从Leo Lionni和Anthony Browne到J.K. Rowling和Shel Silverstein,每个班的学生都为一位外国作家制作了精美的海报。在这个过程中,学生们不仅了解了作者的生平事迹,认识了更多的代表作品,还被作者描绘的故事人物所吸引。



在BMH,掌握中英双语是每个学生的发展目标。


英语作为第二语言,在教学与学习的过程里,对老师和学生来说都更具挑战性。但依托于优秀的外籍教师和成熟的语言教学课程,我们的学生们能够接受到最优质的英语课程,获得最有效的英语学习。


我们希望用更多有趣有意义地方式让孩子爱上语言学习,让他们能在一步步学习的道路上感受语言的奇妙与美好之处。














As the scorching month of June approaches in Shenzhen, BMH's annual English Immersion Week came to a close and proved to be a tremendous success! So what kind of topics did the students explore, both inside and outside the classroom? Come and take a look at the fun times our students had while learning English this week! 

Our students were fully immersed in a 3-day English language and project-based learning programme. They had a blast exploring English through various exciting activities and challenges, from drama and science experiments to cooking. Each day was filled with new discoveries, laughter, and learning.



P1

一年级


Prep 1 explored the theme of "Imagination". Colours, animals and fruits were topics to ignite students' imaginations. Students developed their oral English and vocabulary in fun and engaging ways by participating in role-play, songs, cooking and different art and PE activities.




P2

二年级


Prep 2 Students engaged in researching, scripting and filming public service announcements to bring awareness to important issues they see in their daily lives. They learned how to engage their audience, present facts and call others to action to bring positive changes for a better world.



The fun English classes were filled with students' 'superhero' dreams as they built their own super hero universe and created a new hero identity for themselves.




P3

三年级


The Prep 3 theme of the week was All About Space. Students started the week with a fun rocket activity to get the students excited about what was to come. They thoroughly enjoyed launching their handmade rockets into the sky! Additionally, we explored the planets, the universe, and the astronauts (and animals) who have explored it. Our journey through the universe is now complete; however, we hope the students continue to learn about this topic and discover more about the unknown.  






P4

四年级


Prep 4 focused on space and the planets, where students had the opportunity to learn about our solar system in a creative and hands-on way. Students built dioramas of the solar system, allowing them to explore each planet's unique characteristics and deepen their understanding of our universe. This project not only deepened our students' knowledge of space and the planets but also fostered critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, which are essential skills for their future success.


On Wednesday 31st May, Prep 4 students embarked on a rock climbing adventure. The excursion tied in nicely with our inquiry unit, being about rocks, and was also an early treat for the upcoming children's day. Throughout the day, students learned the skills and techniques of indoor rock climbing, as well as worked together to map out the most efficient routes to climb. 





P5

五年级


Prep 5's English Immersion focus was geography and learning about the world around us. We began with the lines that delineate specific areas of our globe (the Equator, the Hemispheres, the Tropics and the Poles) and the countries that are situated in these areas. Next, children researched countries in the different Hemispheres and on the Equator, presenting interesting factual content to their peers. Next, we moved on to map reading, developing skills of reading a legend to identify different levels of ground and understanding the key features of mountain formation, such as valley, summit, foot and slope. Finally, children worked in groups to find out about mountains all over the world, culminating in a very competitive Kahoot quiz testing their mountain knowledge! After 2.5 days of hard work, Prep 5 celebrated with a popcorn party and a mountain of fun!





P6&S7

六及七年级


During Maths in English, we worked on Sequences and ways of finding term-to-term and position-to-term rules. We also looked into the Skeleton Tower problem, which entailed representing the tower with isometric and plan front and side elevations. Students were challenged to find a general rule for the number of blocks in a 100-tall tower. On Wednesday, we returned our gaze to consolidating our preparation for the end-of-year examinations.




Library

图书馆课程


The library led students from Prep 1 to Prep 3 to appreciate the style of foreign writers. From Leo Lionni and Anthony Browne to J.K. Rowling and Shel Silverstein, students in each class created exquisite posters about a foreign writer. During this process, students not only learned about the author's life story but were also attracted by the story characters depicted by the author.


At BMH, bilingual mastery of Chinese and English is the goal for every student.
