近期，东华文泽学校（TWIS）成功举办了第二届柔道大赛，参赛者于其中完美地展现了柔道的力量、技巧、体育精神及其卓越的才能。各个参赛者根据所在年级被分为PYP小学部男女组别和MYP中学部男女组别。当天，体育馆里热闹非凡，全校学生坐满了看台，热情地为踏入柔道会场的同学加油助威。比赛开始前，MYP中学三年级的学生还呈现了一段令人惊艳的杂技表演，为接下来的激动人心的柔道比赛奠定了基调。

TWIS successfully hosted its second annual Judo Competition, displaying strength, skill, and sportsmanship while captivating the school community. The event showcased the remarkable talent of our students and fostered a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition by including participants from various age groups, both boys and girls from PYP and MYP. The gymnasium was filled with excitement as classmates cheered on their peers who took the center court. The event began with impressive acro sport figures performed by our MYP3 students, setting the stage for the thrilling judo matches that followed.

在PYP小学组别中，学校最年幼的柔道运动员展现了令人难以置信的决心和开放的心态。他们敞开心怀学习和适应新技能，毫不畏惧地挑战对手，展现出优雅而沉着的姿态。另外，选手们在鞠躬问候和展现体育精神的过程中展现了良好的IB学习者属性——“沟通者”，营造出相互尊重和团结友爱的氛围。

In the PYP category, our youngest judokas demonstrated incredible determination and open-mindedness. Their willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques shone through as they fearlessly took on their opponents, showcasing their budding judo skills with grace and poise. The judokas' application of communication skills was evident in their respectful greetings and gestures of sportsmanship, fostering an environment of mutual respect and camaraderie.

与此同时，MYP中学男女组别的比赛亦愈演愈烈。在时刻面对挑战的情况下，参赛者们表现出了坚定的韧性，不轻言放弃，不断抓住时机来掌控优势。学生们在柔道比赛中所取得的胜利和所迎接的挑战将被永远铭记在参与者和观众的心中。这场活动也提醒着我们，态度、价值观和技能超越了比赛本身。

Meanwhile, in the MYP boys and girls categories, the matches intensified, showcasing the true spirit of judo. Judokas displayed exceptional resilience in the face of challenging situations, refusing to give up and continuously seeking opportunities to gain the upper hand. The triumphs and challenges faced on the judo mats will remain etched in the memories of the participants and spectators alike. The events served as a powerful reminder of the values and skills that extend beyond the competition itself, leaving an indelible mark on the journey of each student at TWIS. 

本周，TWIS很荣幸地邀请到了一位特别嘉宾——“爱在中国”慈善组织的创始人Mr. Ronny。访校期间，他给我们的中学生带来了一场精彩的演讲，分享了他所创立的慈善机构为改善贫困儿童和老年人处境所作的努力，这给我们的师生留下了深刻的印象。教育和医疗的重要性始终贯彻于他所演讲的主题，关联着这些群体身上所发生的故事。

We had the honor of hosting a special guest at TWIS this week. Mr. Ronny, the founder of the esteemed charity organization "A Heart for China," paid us a visit and left an indelible mark on our students and staff. During his visit, he delivered a compelling speech, highlighting the incredible work his charity does to improve the lives of underprivileged children and elders in China. He emphasized the importance of education and healthcare, sharing illuminating stories about the challenges faced by these individuals.

此外，MYP中学二年级学生的善举成为了此次讲座的一大亮点。受到Mr. Ronny工作的启发，学生们组织了一场街头小吃设计美食节，旨在为“爱在中国”慈善组织筹集善款。在学生们共同的努力下，他们成功筹集了5000元人民币，并在Mr. Ronny访校期间将其全部捐出。这一举动不仅展示了学生的同情心和共情能力，也增进了他们对集体力量与实践行动的理解。

One of the highlights of Mr. Ronny's visit was the heartfelt gesture from our MYP2 students. Inspired by his extraordinary work and motivated to make a difference, they organized the Street Food Design Festival, a fundraising event aimed at supporting "A Heart for China." Through their dedicated efforts, they successfully collected 5000 RMB. To symbolize their donation and show their solidarity with the cause, MYP2 students presented Mr. Ronny with a check during his visit. This gesture not only showcased their empathy and compassion but also demonstrated their understanding of the power of collective action.

在这个充满乐趣的学期里，TWIS校园里最年幼的学生们参与了各式各样的CASE（课外课程）活动。在这过程中，他们学习传统文化，培养自己讲故事的能力，并不断激发自己的创造力。

In a semester filled with excitement and discovery, the youngest members of the TWIS community have engaged in a diverse array of CASE activities, igniting their creativity, embracing cultural traditions, and nurturing their storytelling abilities. 

“艺术和手工艺”学习单元让我们的小学一年级学生沉浸在中国传统手工艺的世界里，他们可以从中培养自己对文化遗产的鉴赏能力。适逢重大节日时，学生有机会创造出具有思想深度的工艺品，给家人和朋友带来了无尽的欢乐。参与“游戏和拼图”学习单元的学生则磨练了逻辑思维和解决问题的能力。

"The Arts and Crafts" module immersed students in the world of traditional Chinese handicrafts, fostering an appreciation for cultural heritage. International festivals brought joy and understanding as students created thoughtful crafts. Engaging in games and puzzles honed logical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

“音乐电影中的音乐和演唱”学习单元让学生有机会进入一个迷人的电影声乐世界，从而发展学生的音乐性和鉴赏故事的能力。在“英语戏剧艺术”学习单元中，学生摇身一变为演员和讲述者，共同合作创作出独特的故事。通过参与课外课程的不同学习单元，小学一年级学生踏上了创造、文化探索和个人成长的旅程，这与IB课程理念和TWIS对全人教育的承诺是一致的。

The Music and Singing in Musical Film module transported students to the enchanting world of movie songs, developing musicality and storytelling appreciation. In Dramatic Arts English, students became actors and storytellers, collaborating to create unique narratives. Through these CASE adventures, PYP1 students embarked on a journey of creativity, cultural exploration, and personal growth, aligned with the IB philosophy and TWIS's commitment to holistic education.
