传承百年传统 ✦

晨会校长点名

校长点名是演讲日极具哈罗特色的环节，传承百年传统，每位哈罗学子被念到名字后会快步走到校长面前，轻轻举起哈罗草帽敬礼示意，动作娴熟，举止优雅，并会向外方校长道一声:“Here, sir!”一年又一年，年度校长致礼由哈罗学子代代传承，成为哈罗重要的传统礼仪之一。

寄语过去与未来✦

演讲庄重而意长

2022-2023学年是哈罗珠海建校以来的第三个学年，在勇气、荣誉、谦和、互助的哈罗四大价值观的驱动下，哈罗社区的凝聚力越来越强，在很多领域取得了很多了不起的成就。哈罗珠海的外方校长和中方校长回顾了过去这一年我们一起取得的成就，同时也表达了对未来的憧憬。

英国哈罗公学作为我们的指导典范，提到了以下原则，即......成功不应该以分数来衡量，而是要看一个人对世界所带来的影响。凭借一个人的学习、领导和服务的意愿和能力......这些是让人能够拥有充实且有价值的一生的原因。

一所哈罗学校每一年都会为一代又一代哈罗人颁发殊荣，表彰他们在这一年中取得的个体成就和集体荣誉。正是这每一年小小的里程碑为他们的终身成就奠定了基础，他们中的很多人已然从哈罗的舞台走向了世界的舞台，从哈罗的学科奖获得者成为了经济、政治、文化和学界精英，从授奖日的奖章走向了英国维多利亚勋章甚至诺贝尔奖。

作为家长，我每天都能从Sofia脸上看到喜悦、自信，好的情绪有助于健康。来哈罗之前，Sofia曾因为压力过大，身体发出了警告，眼睛过敏，我被吓坏了。反观现在的Sofia，她每天都很愉悦，学习能力和积极性大大提高，每天课后都会和我分享当天学到的知识，发生的趣事，满满的正能量。每天回家跟我聊天都是相当美好的亲子沟通。

我很认同一句话，快乐的童年治愈一生，美好的校园生活也是童年的一部分。很肯定地说，为孩子选择哈罗，是我做的最对的选择。

Harrow Zhuhai Speech Day

for the 22-23 academic year

was held on 7 July in the school auditorium.

The venue was transformed into a sea of green.

Why was Harrow Zhuhai so green today?

The answer will be given at the end of this article!

As a long-standing Harrow tradition,

Speech Day is an important day for

all Harrow branded schools

to celebrate the annual achievements

of their students,

with the whole school community

and parents celebrating together.

Students are honoured for their excellence in

academics, arts, sport, leadership and House.

This year Harrow Zhuhai

has also updated its Scholarships

and the winners have truly demonstrated

Harrow's four values of Courage, Honour,

Humility and Fellowship.

A Century-old Tradition:✦

The Bill

Billing is a very special part of Speech Day, a centuries-old tradition in which each Harrow student, when his or her name is read, walks quickly up to the Head Master and gently raises the Harrow hat in salute, with a skillful and elegant gesture, and says "Here, sir!” Year after year, the annual Bill is passed on from generation to generation and has become an important part of Harrow life .

the Past and the Future

The 2022-2023 academic year is the third since the establishment of Harrow Zhuhai. Driven by Harrow's four values of Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship, the Harrow community has become increasingly cohesive and has achieved many remarkable accomplishments in many areas. The Head Master and Chinese Principal reflected on what we have achieved together in this past year, and also expressed their vision for the future.

From one generation to another, this is the time in a year when each Harrow school comes together to celebrate many individual and collective achievements in all aspects of Harrovian’s endeavour and to witness the honourable awarding ceremony. This signifies a small milestone in the life of a Harrovian yet leads up to their greater lifelong achievements. Many of them went from the Harrow stage to the world stage, from being Harrow subject award winner to economic, political, cultural and academic elite, from receiving medals on Speech Day to receiving Royal Victoria Order and even the Nobel Prize.

G1 Sofia Huang's mother

As a parent, I can see the joy and confidence on Sofia's face every day, and good moods help with health. Before coming to Harrow, Sofia had been so stressed out that her body gave out warnings of eye irritation and I was horrified. On the contrary, Sofia is now happy every day, her learning ability and motivation are greatly improved, and she shares with me after class every day what she has learnt that day, the funny things that happened, and is full of positive energy. Every day she comes home and talks to me and it's quite a wonderful mother-child moment.

I agree with the saying that a happy childhood heals a lifetime and that a good school life makes up a childhood. I can say with certainty that choosing Harrow for my children was the best choice I have ever made.

The highlight of the Speech Day

was the announcement

of the winner of the annual House Cup!

After a year of competing in various categories,

from House competitions to House activities,

from leadership points to daily

efforts of the House members,

the final pieces came together to form the culmination of the honour.

The winner of this year's House Cup is

Tu Youyou

_✦✦

Tu Youyou is one of the six Houses in Harrow Zhuhai and is named after Tu Youyou, the first Chinese Nobel Laureate in physiology/medicine. She represents innovation, compassion and fellowship, and the flag of the House is green.

A huge green banner was instantly hoisted,

green lights were flashing,

green ribbons were flying,

and this glorious moment belonged to Tu Youyou!

Now you know why

the background of this article is green.

The whole school and parents

are very proud of Tu Youyou,

for winning the House Cup for

the second year in a row!

The event ended with a full chorus of

Harrow's school song Forty Years On.
