Foundation

This week in Foundation, the students enhanced their learning about autumn, exploring what objects they can see during this season as well as engaging in fun learning activities with sensory trays full of natural resources. This will be beneficial to the development of their creative minds and curiosity, encouraging them to wonder about the season whilst incorporating natural foliage into their arts and crafts and play.

本周Foundation的学生们加强了对“秋天”的学习,他们了解到了在秋天可以看到什么东西,利用自然资源进行感官托盘和有趣的学习活动,这些活动将有助于培养他们的创造性思维,好奇心,以及将自然树叶融入他们的艺术,手工艺和游戏中的季节奇观。

This week in K1, they had an Artistic Expression and Creativity. They demonstrated agency across multiple categories as they engaged in a nature-based learning experience! The students have been provided with an opportunity to explore their imagination while developing their fine motor skills and artistic abilities too!

K2

The Kindergarten 2 class have been exploring all about Autumn! They used their creativity and imagination to pin various eyes, noses, ears, and mouths onto pumpkins, creating an individual pumpkin friend for their autumn activity this week. It was a fun and imaginative activity which allowed the children to express their creativity by creating unique and personalised pumpkin faces.

This week in K3, the students began learning how to use a number line for addition with numbers 1-20. They had great fun solving number problems on the board and in their table groups!

This week, Music Time in the Foundation class saw students learning the new song 'Three Small Pets' by following  the tune of the 'Three Blind Mice.' For the children to familiarise themselves with the sounds of pet animals, they were encouraged to echo the first two lines of the song. While the children were happily singing, the teacher surprised them by matching the sounds heard with corresponding stuffed animals before placing them in a row for everyone to see.


In Kindergarten 1, the students sang a song about directions called "This Way, That Way, Up There, Down There, The Other Way, Too." This song helped the children learn how to follow directions, and it also helped them identify the different stages of their growth, from when they were babies, to toddlers, to school children.


In Kindergarten 2, the students played a game called the “Listening Bag.” The children sat in a circle whilst the teacher secretly placed one of the objects in the bag. Then, they were asked to pass the bag around the circle as they sang the first three lines of the song. At the end of the first verse, the child holding the bag removed the object, and everyone named it.

本周在Foundation的音乐课上,学生们跟随《三只瞎老鼠》的曲调学习了新歌《三只小宠物》。为了让孩子们熟悉宠物的声音,老师鼓励他们模仿歌曲的前两句。当孩子们开心地唱歌时,老师把听到的声音和相应的毛绒动物配对,然后把它们排成一排以便孩子能在视觉上直观。


K1学生们唱了一首关于方向的歌,叫做“这边,那边,上边,下边,还有另一边。”这首歌帮助孩子们学习如何遵循指示,也帮助他们识别自己成长的不同阶段,从婴儿到幼儿,再到学龄儿童。


K2学生们玩了一个叫做“听力袋”的游戏。孩子们围成一圈坐着,老师偷偷地把其中一件东西放进书包里。然后,他们一边唱这首歌的前三句,一边把袋子传递给周围的人。在第一节结束时,拿着袋子的孩子把里面的东西拿出来,让所有人说出是什么。
