This pioneering approach has led to the creation of a multicultural education curriculum that focuses on nurturing children's proficiency in both Chinese and English language literacy, as well as physical activities.

The core principle of IEYC is "Every Child is Unique." Whether in the childcare setting, under the guidance of teachers, or within the family, there should be an unwavering commitment to paying attention to, understanding, respecting, and supporting every facet of a child's development and needs. The IEYC curriculum places a strong emphasis on "continuous provision," signifying that learning opportunities and activity areas should be available both indoors and outdoors. This approach facilitates the transfer of children's learning experiences, breaking down spatial barriers and offering them a more systematic and enriched learning environment. This, in turn, enables children to engage in ongoing exploration and practice.

The past month has seen the BeeMee Forest Academy Xihu Campus filled with lively discussion and exploration as we have had two different IEYC topics being taught. To celebrate the discoveries that the children have made over the past few weeks, it was decided that the children should have the opportunity to go on their own IEYC themed school trips. This week, the K2 classes went on a trip to Taohualing to enjoy yoga, meditation, and Tai Chi workshops surrounded by the natural beauty. The K3, K1, and Y1 children have gone on an extraordinary trip to the Insect Exhibit in the Hunan Agricultural University.

This month, K2 have been learning all about Mindful Play. This unit aims to help the children become more mindful about themselves and others. Mindful children exhibit a range of valuable attributes that contribute to their holistic development. Their enhanced ability to focus and concentrate not only aids in academic pursuits but also promotes attentive engagement in daily activities. Mindfulness practices enable them to experience increased levels of calm, reducing stress and anxiety and fostering emotional well-being.

本月,K2班级开始学习 "正念游戏"。本单元旨在帮助孩子们更加关注自己和他人。孩子们会表现出一系列有助于全面发展的宝贵品质。他们的专注力和集中力不仅有助于学业,还能促进他们专注地参与日常活动。正念练习能让他们体验到更多的平静,减轻压力和焦虑,促进情绪健康。


With improved impulsive control, these children are better equipped to make thoughtful decisions and exhibit self-discipline. Increased self-awareness allows them to understand their emotions and thoughts more deeply. They also tend to find skilful ways to respond to difficult situations, developing valuable problem-solving skills. Lastly, mindfulness nurtures empathy, making them more understanding of others and promoting harmonious relationships and conflict-resolution skills.

随着冲动控制能力的提高,这些孩子能够更好地做出深思熟虑的决定并表现出自律。自我意识的提高使他们能够更深入地了解自己的情绪和想法。他们还能找到应对困难情况的娴熟方法,培养解决问题的宝贵技能。最后,正念能培养同理心,使他们更加理解他人,建立和谐的人际关系和提高解决冲突的技能。


The Mindful Play IEYC trip to Taohualing was a delightful and enriching experience, offering the young learners a unique blend of outdoor adventure and mindfulness activities. The hike through the park's winding trails allowed the children to connect with nature and explore the vibrant flora and fauna. Three different spots in the park were chosen to hold, yoga, Tai Chi, and meditation workshops. 

IEYC正念游戏的桃花岭之旅是一次愉快而充实的经历,为小学员们提供了户外探险和心灵活动的独特融合。徒步穿越公园蜿蜒的小径,让孩子们与大自然亲密接触,探索生机勃勃的动植物。我们在公园的三个不同地点举办了瑜伽、太极和冥想工作坊。


The K2 children engaged in playful yoga poses, found serenity in meditation, and experienced the grace of Tai Chi. This holistic approach not only made the day enjoyable but also encouraged physical fitness and emotional well-being. This trip highlighted the core different exercises and themes of our Mindful Play trip and we hope that it will prove to be a memorable experience for all of the children for years to come. 

K2 的孩子们摆出俏皮的瑜伽姿势,在冥想中找到宁静,并体验了太极拳的优雅。这种全面的方法不仅让孩子们度过了愉快的一天,还促进了他们的身体健康和情绪稳定。这次旅行突出了我们 "正念游戏之旅 "的不同核心练习和主题,我们希望这将成为孩子们今后难忘的经历。
