Speaking is one of the most important abilities that human beings have to express their feelings and transmit culture. The Chinese are one of the earliest nations to focus on and improve their rhetoric. After thousands of years of development, rhetoric has risen to be the art of the language par excellence. Therefore, this week, Grade 4 students learnt the art of public speaking and concluded that speaking does not only mean ‘reading a text.’ Speaking requires transforming words into vivid language, instead. In addition to reading with a clear and loud voice, one must also add appropriate emotions to express the thoughts and feelings of the work.
Grade 1 students were introduced to a new text called ‘Autumn.’ To nurture the students' interest in their learning process and deepen their understanding of the aforementioned text, they painted Autumn scenery after studying and analysing it. Firstly, the students carefully observed the landscape outdoors and, then, combined their observations and life experiences to better understand the text. Whilst painting, the students maintained a high degree of enthusiasm.
Kindergarten 3 students learned picture book stories about friendship and made a handicraft based on the topic ‘good friends hold hands.’
