2023年世界学者杯（WSC）于上周拉开帷幕。世界学者杯源于美国，是以培养8-18岁“青年学者”为目的，受到耶鲁大学官方支持的全球中学生学术奥林匹克竞赛。此次竞赛规模极大，有超过70个国家的140多个城市的5万名学生代表参与这场学术盛宴。西亚斯外籍人员子女学校学生代表王熙怡、王怡鑫、郭泊言、郭矾羲也参加了此次竞赛，并于激烈的角逐中大放异彩，为自己和学校赢得5个奖杯和34枚奖牌，并捧回最富含金量的团队优胜奖奖杯，全部晋级全球赛！

2023 The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) began last week.

WSC is derived from the United States and aims to cultivate 8-18 year- old young scholars. It is a Middle Year student international academic program that is sponsored by Yale University with more than 50,000 students participating from over 70 countries and 140 cities every year. Four students, Chloe Wang, Louis Wang, Wallace Guo and Fanxi Guo competed at the WSC in Qingdao, representing Sias International School. They are honored with 5 trophies, 24 medals and the most rewarding Champion Teams Trophy and are qualified to advance to the Global Round of Competition.

Louis Wang, Wallace Guo and Fanxi Guo worked as a team and won Great Team Trophies for Team Challenge, Team Bowl and Team Writing.Louis Wang, representing Sias IS, won fourth place for the Top Champion Scholars.

本次大赛围绕重塑过去Reconstructing the Past的主题，开启四个板块的竞赛项目，分别是：“学者杯”团队竞答 Scholar's Bowl、协同创作 Collaborative Writing、团队辩论 Team Debate、学者知识挑战 Scholar's Challenge。通过这四大板块展开对科学、社会学、历史、艺术、文学、通识等六大学科领域的深度探究与竞技，从而激发青年学者对不同学科的兴趣。培养团队合作、国际沟通、创新与思辨等核心素养，成就高素质学者与领袖。

This tournament themes as Reconstructing the Past and competes in four different events: the Team Debate, the Scholar's Bowl, Collaborative Writing, and the Scholar's Challenge. Through these four events, the competition explores and competes in 6 disciplinary areas including Science, Social Studies, History, Art, Literature and Common Knowledge to stimulate young scholars’ interests about different subjects. It fosters teamwork, global communication, creativity and critical thinking and encourages young students to become high-qualified scholars and leaders.
