HUAMEI FOREIGN LANGUAGE SCHOOL FOOD POISONING SAFETY DRILL
To correctly standardize and guide the emergency response to food poisoning incidents, control them in a timely manner, effectively prevent their occurrence, and actively address the incidents, thereby enhancing the school's emergency response capabilities to food poisoning events and ensuring the physical health and safety of teachers and students, Hua Mei Foreign Language School conducted a food poisoning drill on the morning of December 21, 2023.
Plan Formulation and Meticulous Deployment
Prior to the drill, the Safety Office developed an emergency response plan for food poisoning, established a Food Safety Emergency Response Team, and held a training meeting for food poisoning emergency response drills. The various stages of the food poisoning drill were carefully deployed, requiring team members to familiarize themselves with the drill plan in advance and further clarify the drill requirements and their respective responsibilities.
At 7:30, the host (Assistant Principal Wei Xutao) announced, "Emergency response drill for food poisoning at Huamei Foreign Language School is now underway." Deputy Principal Hu Shaoming, the overall commander on-site, declared, "The emergency response drill for food poisoning at Huamei Foreign Language School is now commencing!"
Simulated Scenario: Practical Exercise
Discovery of Suspected Poisoning Cases
Ten minutes after the meal, four students from Class 701 suddenly experienced symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and dizziness, suspected of food poisoning. The class teacher, Mr. Yang, noticed the anomaly, immediately approached to inquire about the situation, and, together with other teachers, escorted the students to the school infirmary. Simultaneously, he promptly reported the incident to Director Liang. Subsequently, the cafeteria supervisor, Mr. He, noticed that our teacher, Mr. Wang, exhibited symptoms of suspected food poisoning, such as vomiting and abdominal pain, during breakfast in the school cafeteria. Mr. He promptly reported the situation to Director Chen.
Preliminary Diagnosis: Activation of Emergency Plan
The school doctor quickly assessed the situation, examined and observed the students, and inquired about the details. The preliminary diagnosis was suspected cases of food poisoning, reported promptly to Director Liang.

The protection center conducted a thorough inspection of the kitchen, sealed and preserved suspicious foods and sample refrigerators that could cause poisoning, and blocked the entire kitchen, prohibiting anyone from entering, awaiting verification by higher authorities.
Timely Medical Treatment: Informing Stakeholders
The logistics support team immediately dispatched a vehicle, accompanied by the school doctor, to transport patients to the nearest community hospital for treatment. Class teachers informed the parents of the patients about the situation.
Drill Summary and Experience Enhancement
Director Liang organized all participating teachers and students to collectively review the entire process of the drill, further familiarizing everyone with how each position should respond and what actions to take in the event of sudden food poisoning among teachers and students. The entire drill ran smoothly, with a well-organized process, enabling the swift and effective handling of emergency situations. Through the drill, the rapid response capabilities of the faculty and staff in dealing with incidents such as food poisoning were enhanced, achieving the intended purpose.
Food safety is of paramount importance. Through this activity, the school will rigorously manage the cafeteria according to food safety standards, refine various management systems, lay the foundation for a safe campus, and ensure the 'safety on the tip of the tongue' for students and staff.
