G2 Native & Non-native

This week in G2 Language art class, we have learned to read the text silently. Silent reading requires reading without speaking or finger pointing. After practice, the students have all mastered the method of silent reading. This way of reading the text can improve students' reading speed.

We start our Mandarin lesson with a character riddle everyday and students just love it! Yesterday we finished learning all the new words of lesson 12 and we played a vocabulary matching game afterwards. I am very surprised to see that they remembered all the new words and they have great passion for learning Chinese! Here are some lovely moments from our Mandarin class.

G3 Native & Non-native

This week in G3 Languageart class we are sharing photos of our students’ vacations and interestingstories from their vacations. We discussed some bad phenomena in society, suchas drunk driving, queue jumping, and throwing garbage everywhere. The studentsalso put forward their own ideas on how to better prevent these bad phenomenafrom happening. The students spoke freely and actively expressed theiropinions. I am really proud of them.

Recently in G4 Mandarin language arts class we held a debate competition with the theme of "Is Jingwei Reclamation meaningful?" During the debate, the students from both sides showed their confident debating style. This was a great oral communication activity. This week, students in theG4 non-native language class began the transition from pinyin learning toarticle learning. G5 Native & Non-native

In G5 Mandarin class, we are learning the unit focused on the beauty and fun of nature, describing scenery from different perspectives at different times and places. The students appreciated the scenery of the four seasons, felt the different scenes of the big banyan tree in the morning and evening, and imagined the story of the moon. In class, students worked together to find the key information and structure in the material to show their understanding.

This week, students in the G5 non-native language class completed the exercise of "Xue Bao's Home" together. This is a different way of learning than textbook learning. Students learn new vocabulary by themselves by watching the video. Of course, all the vocabulary appears in the video. They need to watch it carefully and comprehensively understand it, and finally convert it into the knowledge they need. For this kind of independent exploration of learning, students become the main body of learning and lead their own learning, which requires them to use a variety of skills comprehensively.
