From the peak of summer to the chill of winter, with the relentless efforts of all the teachers and students at Huamei, we have collectively traversed a semester that is fulfilling, extraordinary, and rewarding. Each passing day witnessed the steadfast steps of students in their growth and the diligent sweat of teachers toiling. On January 19th, Huamei Foreign Language School held the closing ceremony for the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.

"As legal awareness resides in our hearts, spend the winter vacation in a civilized and disciplined manner." With the winter vacation approaching, Deputy Principal Xiao Youcheng, who is also a police officer in charge of legal affairs, conducted a legal and safety lecture for all teachers and students. Officer Xiao Youcheng explained aspects such as traffic regulations, fire safety, internet safety, and fraud prevention, hoping that everyone will have a safe and joyful winter vacation.

"As the sword's edge is honed, the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from enduring the bitter cold." In this semester, the "Huamei students" have achieved remarkable results in various activities and competitions. The efforts and hard work throughout the semester have ultimately yielded fruitful outcomes. Assistant Principal Wei Xutao announced the list of commendations and presented awards to the winning students.

On January 4th, the fifth grade of the bilingual department participated in the assessment organized by Jin'an Education Group, heralding a joyous season of achievement for Huamei: ranking first in average total score per person, securing the first position in mathematics, and the second position in English.

From January 11th to 16th, three grades participated in the final assessments organized by 29 schools in the Luohu District. The feedback on the results is encouraging: the average total scores per person are steadily rising in the district; students from each grade have entered the ranks of excellence in the entire district. For example, in the ninth grade, students like Feng Yuande, Hou Shaoyang, Wu Yufei, Ning Ziqi, Wu Jingcen, Sheng Li; in the eighth grade, Gu Changyang, Lin Yishi, Huang Youye; in the seventh grade, Lai Yitong, Yao Yanxi, and others. These data indicate that our efforts in education quality management are showing initial success.

Vice Principal Hu Shaoming, in earnest implementation of the comprehensive quality view proposed by President Deng Dengjiang, with the core concepts of "four more attentions" and "three achievements exceeding 80%" as the foundation, summarized that the current quality management is still administratively driven and in the initial stage of implementing the ideas of "scores are earned through homework" and "quality relies on overtaking in the turns." In the future, it is necessary to develop a cultural approach, consciously implement strategies to improve quality and efficiency, and proactively find ways to enhance these strategies.

Vice Principal Hu Shaoming pointed out that music, physical education, and arts are strengths of Huamei Foreign Language School's Hong Kong branch, with a high starting point, high levels, and high achievements. We look forward to the Form 5 students in the Hong Kong branch passing the DSE joint exam next year and entering world-renowned schools. We also hope that they will apply to top Chinese universities like Tsinghua and Peking University. He pledged that at that time, Huamei will roll out the red carpet, inviting students back to share their inspirational stories and introduce their experiences of success with younger students.
