In recent years, we have witnessed a revolutionary shift in technology, a significant part of this transformation is the integration of Virtual Reality (VR), an approach that has revitalised how people engage with the world. At ASJ Early Years & Primary, we like to stay ahead of changes in education, therefore we have brought science to life for our students with VR!

VR technology in K1 to G2 classrooms has transcended traditional teaching methodologies, especially in science education. This immersive technology allowed young learners to experience and interact with scientific concepts in a dynamic 3D environment, meaning a lesson on the solar system was no longer confined to pictures in a book, instead, students could virtually travel through space, witnessing the rotation of planets and the glow of distant stars, thereby converting abstract concepts into tangible experiences.

利用VR技术,K1到G2的课堂超越传统的教学方法,特别是在科学教育中。这种沉浸式的技术让少儿在动态的3D环境中体验科学概念并与之互动,这意味着关于太阳系的课程不再局限于书本上的图片,而是可以虚拟地在太空中旅行,目睹行星的旋转和遥远恒星的发光,从而将抽象的概念转化为有形的体验。









This approach has been particularly beneficial for this age group as VR makes it possible for children to grasp complex scientific phenomena, like the water cycle or the life cycle of a butterfly, through a virtual representation that they can see and interact with. This enhances their understanding and significantly boosts their interest and engagement.

The use of VR at ASJ



The use of VR at ASJ is carefully moderated. Children in K1 to G2 spend a minimal amount of time, typically between 2 to 10 minutes, in VR headsets during a class intentionally designed to prevent any potential discomfort that might arise from prolonged use of VR technology. 

在ASJ, 我们严格控制VR的使用时间。K1到G2的孩子在课堂上戴VR头显通常在2到10分钟之间,这是为了防止长时间使用VR技术可能产生的任何潜在不适。





Even within these short time frames, the impact of VR on learning has been profound. These brief, immersive sessions were meticulously crafted to captivate the students' attention and to bring the lesson's key elements to life.

The introduction of VR marks a significant step forward in how young students learn and interact with science. By bringing complex scientific concepts to life in an engaging and interactive manner, while ensuring the health and well-being of the students with minimal time in the headsets, VR has established itself as an invaluable tool in modern education.
