Respect for others, when they display their work or perform on stage, is always a significant aspect of our music classes, because it has a huge impact on how students embrace challenges, build their self-confidence, and express emotions with enthusiasm.
Kindergarten 3 students explored the correct hand posture in regard to piano playing. In particular, they showed respectful behaviour towards their peers when they showcased their technique.
In Grade 1, each student showed interest in playing drums by reading rhythms.
Grade 2 students learned hand signs with songs. Additionally, they were encouraged to maintain a positive attitude during their peers’ performances.
Grade 3 students explored different street dance genres, such as hip-hop, jazz, breaking, and locking. They then let their ideas and emotions be openly conveyed in their communication with others.
Grade 6 students started to compose a song called ‘New Shoes,’ in which the main theme is the sense of respect they feel for their classmates as well as the proper and correct way to relate their feedback to them.
