On the morning of March 8th, Dr. Christine Choi, current Secretary for Education of Hong Kong, and her team visited ASJ Dongguan on-site to learn more about quality education for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and international students in the Greater Bay Area, accompanied with the officials of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Dongguan Education and Dongguan Bureau of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs.

3月8日上午，香港特区教育局局长蔡若莲博士一行人造访东莞暨大港澳子弟学校，实地了解本校如何为湾区的港、澳、台及外籍人员子女提供全面的优质教育，广东省教育厅、东莞市教育局以及东莞市台港澳事务局相关领导共同随行。

The guests were offered a school campus tour and a glimpse of the HKDSE curriculum by Mr. Jonathan Lai (Chief Principal of ASJ Dongguan), Ms. Hina Patel (IB Principal), Ms. Jasmine Qin (Deputy Principal of Academic Affairs), and Mr. Tim Shun Tse (HKDSE Curriculum Coordinator). Dr. Choi and her team observed the on-going lessons of Primary and Secondary classes. 

来宾们在东莞暨大港澳子弟学校总校长赖炳华先生、外籍校长Ms. Hina Patel、教务副校长秦丽女士和香港课程协调主任谢添顺老师的陪同下参观了校园，蔡博士在参观的过程中了解了本校的办学情况、校园设施以及香港DSE课程的实施情况。随后，蔡博士一行人进入课堂观摩教学情况。

Dr. Choi communicated with the students face-to-face and wondered why they have decided to study in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Covid-19 would be the main reason, and the students all  agreed that HKDSE curriculum is a good alternative for the future.

蔡博士与几名学生进行了一次面对面的诚挚交谈，主动询问了同学们在入读东莞暨大港澳子弟学校之前所就读的学校情况，学生们称以前曾在香港、东莞、深圳或广州等地读书，后来因为疫情原因，且对香港DSE课程以及对学校的认可等因素而选择了在本校就读。

The students confirmed that they would be the candidates for HKDSE Examination. Dr. Choi also learned that the two high school student representatives are now studying economics, history, and biology courses.

蔡博士随后询问了同学们今后的考试方向，同学们均表示以后会选择参加香港DSE考试。蔡博士向其中两名高中生代表了解了选修课的情况，两名代表表示正在修读的是经济、历史及生物课程。

Dr. Choi kindly asked the students whether they could adapt to campus life in the GBA. They all spontaneously said that they like it here as there are more activities and sports spaces to perform and exercise.

随后蔡博士亲切的询问同学们是否适应在大湾区的校园生活，同学们认为能够较好地适应，且东莞暨大港澳子弟学校有较好的校园环境和设施，有更多的活动空间和运动场所来展示和锻炼自己。

The students were very thrilled with Dr. Choi’s arrival and presented their hand-drawn painting of ASJ Dongguan campus. This meaningful gift is to accompany Dr. Choi back to Hong Kong, witnessing the collaboration between the Education Bureau-Hong Kong and the School.

同学们对蔡博士的到来感到十分欣喜，向其送上了亲手创作的以东莞ASJ校园为主题的画作，这份充满意义的礼物将伴随着蔡博士一同回到香港，成为本校与香港特区教育局亲切交流的美好见证。

Being the first GBA school visited by Dr. Choi since she has become Secretary for Education in Hong Kong July 2022, the teachers and students of ASJ Dongguan felt greatly encouraged by the visit. ASJ Dongguan is very postive and confident to provide quality education with Hong Kong characteristics in the GBA.

作为蔡若莲博士自去年7月上任香港特区教育局局长以来“第一所”出访的湾区港人子弟学校，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校全体师生都感受到了莫大的鼓励，也让本校更加坚定了在湾区办好港澳子弟学校的信心，努力推广香港特色优质教育！
