Language is a bridge through which children express themselves to the outside world and convey their feelings; language is also a supportive cane through which children form their minds, sharpen their thoughts, and explore the deeper outside and inside worlds. The event was meticulously planned and prepared by the teachers and scholars of the English & Global Languages Department of Secondary School. On the day of the performance, the scholars came out in full costume with great enthusiasm and brought a unique English audio-visual feast to everyone.

The scholars presented full and vivid characters in the twisting and turning plot, which made the teachers and students on the stage praise them very much. Fluent English dialogues, exquisite acting skills, vivid performances, and unique forms of acting ......

The English Fall Festival hosted by Secondary School English and Global Languages Department was aimed at celebrating the Fall season and showcasing scholars’ profound English skills in a delightful Fall-themed ambiance. This event was a fusion of thrills and gratitude, all wrapped in the magic of the English language and its beautiful expressions while also fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the school.

由中学部英语和全球语言组举办的枫叶英语季在这个秋季到来时候又一次如期上演，学者们以秋季为主题，在愉悦氛围中展示深厚的英语技能。内容方面融合了惊险和感恩，展示着英语语言的魔力及其优美的表达方式，同时加强了社区意识和协作精神。

Initially, during the designing phase, we incorporated targeted learning objectives and language skills into a range of lessons, activities, and distinctive projects for G7-12 English classes. We always aim for our scholars to engage in lessons that reflect real-life values and embody the essence of the theme, providing them with meaningful experiences. We ensured differentiation across various grade levels and FLGs. In G7-9, scholars continued writing horror story based on given prompts. In CP classes, students wrote narrations. While in CPA/ECP/ECPI classes, they wrote dialogues. Each grade had a different narrative focus: exposition in grade 7, flashback in grade 8, and cliffhanger in grade 9.

最初，在设计阶段，我们将有针对性的学习目标和语言技能融入到7-12年级的一系列课程、活动和独特的项目中。我们始终致力于让学生们参与反映现实生活价值和体现主题精髓的课程，为他们提供有意义的体验。我们确保了不同级别和灵活学习小组之间的差异化。在G7-9中，学者们继续根据给定的提示（比如固定要出现的几个角）撰写恐怖故事。在CP课上，学者们以记叙的形式撰写。在CPA/ECP/ECPI课堂上，我们要求他们写对话。并且给不同年级规定了不同的叙事重点；7年级为铺陈，8年级为倒叙，9年级为设置悬念。

One of the highlights was the ESL stage performance, which fused a live news report on murder cases from ESL2 with monologues from the decedents in ESL3. This joint showcase was a culmination of the students' efforts and creativity. In the upper grades, the ELA classes presented an immersive performance of a short story adaptation, with differentiated literary focuses. With such dedicated efforts of all English teachers and the participation of scholars, we have seen fruitful products from our esteemed scholars.

作为本次演出秀的其中一个亮点，ESL 的舞台表演将 ESL2 的谋杀案现场新闻报道与 ESL3 的死者独白融合在一起。这次联合展示是学生们努力和创造力的结晶。高中部的学者们则上演了一场沉浸式短剧，学者们改编了爱伦坡短篇小说《一桶白葡萄酒》，并对文学作品的重点进行了区分。在所有英语老师和学者们的共同努力下，呈现了这样一场精彩纷呈的英语表演秀。

Ms. Bella as the person in charge (PIC) for this event had brainstormed all the lessons generally, observed the classes and we both witnessed the remarkable progress on our scholars, from initially struggling to read the script to confidently reciting six to seven divs of narration with appropriate emotions and gestures, while effectively collaborating with their performance groups.

One memorable moment was a scholar named Yin Zhu initially harbored apprehension and lacked confidence about performing on stage. However, through dedicated rehearsals and the encouragement received from both teachers and peers, he gained newfound confidence. Yin ultimately delivered a remarkable on-stage performance, eschewing the use of a script entirely. Reinvigorated and content, he emerged as the distinguished scholar selected from Grade 8 to excel in narration.

最让人印象深刻的是，Yin同学起初对登台表演心存疑虑，缺乏信心。然而，经过认真排练以及老师和同学们的鼓励，他找到了自信。最终，他能够脱离剧本，在舞台上进行精彩的表演。舞台表演的经历让他自己更加自信，成为八年级出色的一名解说员。
