上海美达菲12月竞赛喜报

无论是爬藤、冲G5，还是申请英美海外顶级名校，单靠标化成绩已经无法拉开差距，高含金量、高匹配度的国际竞赛已然成为申请名校的重要加分项。

Whether it is applying for Ivy League University, G5, or other top universities in the United Kingdom and the United States, standardized scores alone can no longer widen the gap, and highly-valued international competitions have become a plus for applying for famous universities.

继上次拿到全国一等奖之后，12月在国际竞赛的舞台上，上海美达菲学子们继续乘风破浪斩获佳绩，展现自身的卓越实力。

After winning the national first prize last time, on the stage of international competition in December, Shanghai MacDuffie students continued to have achieved good results and showed their excellence.

2023年11月11日，阿思丹（香港）举办的“英国生物测评（中级）(IBO)”在线上及考点学校同时进行。英国生物测评（中级）(Intermediate Biology Olympiad) 不仅考察学生的生物学知识，还鼓励他们在校外继续学习生物科学。成绩优秀者将增加世界名校医学、生物等理科专业申请优势。英国生物测评（中级）由英国生物奥林匹克委员会组织，由英国皇家生物学会管理。

On November 11, 2023, the "UK Biometric Assessment (Intermediate) (IBO)" organized by Astan (Hong Kong) was held online and at the same time. Intermediate Biology Olympiad not only tests students' knowledge of biology, but also encourages them to continue studying biological sciences outside of school. Excellent results will increase the advantages in applying world's top medical, biology and other science majors . The UK Biometric Assessment (Intermediate) is organised by the British Biological Olympic Committee and administered by the Royal Society of Biology.

来自11AL-B的田林暄同学获得了全球银奖（Global Silver），来自全球10A的徐枫崎同学获得了全球铜奖（Global Bronze）。

Tian Linxuan from 11AL-B won the Global Silver Award, and Xu Fengqi from 10A won the Global Bronze award.

2023年11月9日-15日，阿思丹（香港）举办的 “2023年美国数学测评（AMC10/12）” 在我校进行。

From November 9 to 15, 2023, the "2023 American Mathematics Assessment (AMC10/12)" organized by Astan (Hong Kong) was held in our school.

美国数学测评(AMC) 由美国数学协会(MAA) 举办，起源于1950年，目前每年全球超过6000 所学校的30 万名同学参加，是全球最有影响力的青少年数学测评活动之一。美国数学测评包括了AMC8、AMC10/12、AIME、USAMO/USAJMO，其中AMC8 主要面向8 年级（初二）以下的初中和小学高年级学生；AMC10/12 主要面向10 年级（高一）和12 年级（高三）以下的高中生；AIME主要是面向AMC10/12 优秀学生，为美国数学奥林匹克USAMO/USAJMO 和美国数学奥林匹克国家队的选拔。

The American Mathematics Assessment (AMC), organized by the American Mathematical Association (MAA), originated in 1950, and currently with more than 300,000 students from 6,000 schools around the world participating in each year, is one of the world's most influential youth math assessment activities. American mathematics assessment includes AMC8, AMC10/12, AIME, USAMO/USAJMO, among which AMC8 is mainly for junior middle school and primary school students below grade 8 (Grade 2); AMC10/12 is mainly aimed at high school students below Grade 10 (Senior one) and Grade 12 (Senior Three). AIME is primarily for AMC10/12 outstanding students, who are selected for the USAMO/USAJMO and the US Mathematical Olympiad National Team.

我校3名学子——彭鹏瑞/傅钰淼/伍愿臻获得了全球学校卓越奖，3名学子——彭鹏瑞/伍愿臻/朱希获得全球优秀奖，共7名学生获得AIME晋级资格。

Three students from our school, Peng Pengrui, Fu Yumiao, and Wu Yuanzhen, have won the Global Honor Roll of Distinction Award. Three students, Peng Pengrui, Wu Yuanzhen, and Zhu Xi, have also won the Global Distinction Award. A total of seven students have gained qualification for AIME promotion.

此外，我校伍愿臻同学以全球top1%的成绩在AMC12竞赛中获得全球卓越奖，在今年竞争异常激烈，以及获奖分数线也是“水涨船高”的情况下尤其令人瞩目。全球前1%的成绩显示了他卓越的数学才华，也将为他开启更多未来可能性。

In addition, our student Wu Yuanzhen won the Global Roll of Distinction Award in the AMC12 competition with the top 1% global score, which is particularly noteworthy in this year's extremely fierce competition. The top 1% of global grades demonstrate his outstanding mathematical talent and will also open up more possibilities for his future.

另外，也要感谢背后辛苦付出的老师们，悉心规划组织比赛的Elsa老师，积极鼓励同学们参与国际赛事的班主任，认真辅导同学们的朱婷老师和惠艳梅老师。

In addition, we also want to thank the teachers who worked hard behind the scenes: Elsa who carefully planned and organized the competition, the homeroom teacher who actively encouraged students to participate in international competitions, and Zhu Ting and Hui Yanmei who carefully tutored students.
