On Wednesday the 21st of September, the A1 and A2 Art and Design students went on a field trip to West Bund Museum and Tank Shanghai led by Ms Yan. The field trip was designed for students to record ideas, observations, and insights to assist further investigation of their own art practice.

9月21日（星期三），A1、A2艺术与设计专业的学生在严平老师的带领下前往西岸美术馆和上海油罐艺术中心进行了实地考察。此次出行旨在让学生记录并观察并建立艺术思维，在实践中把握作品方向。

In the morning, students visited the exhibition “The Voice of Things” with a collection of the Centre Pompidou, curated around the use of objects in the art field throughout various historical periods, from Surrealism in the 20s, to the Globalization in the modern days. In the afternoon, an English guided tour was arranged for the students at exhibition “Refuse” by contemporary artist Ed Atkins, as well as “The Calling of Harsh” by artist Jia Aili. Some students also took an extended trip to visit SCoP (Shanghai Center of Photography), navigating throw how artists and people from the Netherlands discuss on their living through the lens of photography.

上午，学生们参观了“万物之声”展览，欣赏来自蓬皮杜中心的典藏作品，该展览以“物”描绘贯穿从20年代的超现实主义到现代全球化的各个历史时期。学生从中开启了全新的视角与体验。下午，我们为学生安排了英国艺术家埃德·阿特金斯（Ed Atkins）的个展“无用之物”，开创性地呈现了实时3D模拟作品 Refuse；艺术家贾蔼力的“莽原”，向学生展示了艺术家对艺术和生命的深入思考。当日，甚至有部分学生意犹未尽，探访上海摄影中心，学习荷兰艺术家如何通过镜头展现生活。

Students took photos and made notes throughout their whole day of visit. They were also asked to complete tasks such as analysing artworks relating to their chosen theme, comparing two art pieces regarding visual clues, and collecting art vocabularies. The full schedule was “physically demanding” for the students, but academically rewarding.

学生在一整天的参观中都在投入的拍照、做笔记。同时，学科组还给他们布置了新的课题任务，如分析与其所选主题相关的艺术品，比较两件关于视觉线索的艺术品，以及收集艺术词汇。此次户外教学活动虽然对学生来说也是一种“体能挑战”，但干货满满，受益匪浅。

Dear parents,

The Physics A2 team has made an amazing start to the term and have been working hard on several challenging topics so far this year, including “Thermodynamics” and “Wave Mechanics”, with fantastic progress. Although the Physics topics can be challenging, the class have continually displayed the cultural values of SUIS time and time again over the past several weeks. These include teamwork, resilience, respect and group cooperation.

A2物理学科在学期伊始表现令人刮目相看，在过去几周，我们的学生致力于挑战“热力学”和“波力学”这两大颇具挑战性的课题并取得了显著进展。这再一次印证了协和的教育理念和文化价值——包括团队合作力、团队凝聚力、契而不舍的奋发精神等。

To celebrate their hard work and achievements, a Physics SUIS school trip was made into Puxi, where students participated in a variety of group activities, such as Archery, Bowling, Air Hockey and Ping Pong. I would like to say thank you to the parents; without your support, none of this would be possible.

为鼓励在该阶段付出不懈努力的学生们，协和浦东（三林）物理学科组牵头带领学生们外出开展了一系列的团队活动，如射箭、保龄球、气垫球和乒乓球等。在此，我向支持此次活动的家长表示诚挚感谢。
