BMH探究课带着孩子们坐上了飞机?

“探究式教学”一直是我校重要的教学方式。这种形式与传统教学中的照本宣科、孩子们只是坐在课室听老师进行知识讲解有很大的不同。我们鼓励孩子们亲身去研究一个问题,基于探究的方法,以确保学生超越知识,并将技能、概念性理解和个人观点融入他们的学习中。


探究的重点在于体会和理解,这有利于帮助孩子真正成为对世界怀抱好奇心、对知识充满渴望的终身学习者。


K2目前正在学习他们今年的第一个探究单元:交通工具。我们一起走入他们的课堂,看看这些小朋友们是如何进行探究式课程学习的吧~


呜呼,起飞!


K2的孩子们怎么在BMH沉浸式地“坐上”了飞机?他们在飞机上又有怎样的新奇体验?跟着孩子们一起开始这段探索之旅吧!


星期一早晨,每个孩子在进教室时都领到了一张票。孩子们一直好奇地思考着这张票是做什么用的,为什么老师会给他们一张票。



他们和老师分享了很多关于他们认为“我们要去哪里”以及“如何抵达目的地”的想法。



那么问题来了:他们到底会乘坐哪种交通工具?火车?轮船?还是汽车呢?


老师们带着准备好票的孩子们去到幼儿园中庭,没想到“飞机”和“飞行员”已经准备就绪等待着大家呢! 


孩子们在指引下有序排队检票,找到座位入座,认真地听着“飞机”上的安全语音播报,系上安全带。这一次他们要和小伙伴们一起出发,在机长的带领下到天空去翱翔。



飞机带着他们在云层中穿梭,孩子们惬意享受着“饮料”。天上的风景也很不错,让他们留恋忘返。经过长达800公里的飞行后,机长不辱使命,安全“着陆”在陆地。



回到教室后,孩子们分享回顾了在“飞机”上的所见所闻。一趟旅程下来,他们都有了自己的思考,积极地分享着他们认为这一次他们去了哪里旅行,乘坐飞机需要做哪些准备的想法。



收获颇丰的他们和老师们一起完成了“KWL”表格,这个表格可以反映孩子们目前对交通工具知识的了解情况,老师们也可以根据情况制定接下来的探索学习课程。


有时候我们在想,如果我们的孩子要在长大的过程中一点点失去好奇心和探索欲,那是一件多么残酷的事。


走出教室,用自己感官去体验,在体验中获得自己独特的思考,我们希望用这样的方式让BMH的孩子们将自己的好奇、憧憬延长一点,再一点……


Inquiry is a key pedagogical approach at BMH, aiding the development of children’s critical thinking and problem solving skills. In our Pre School, we believe that inquiry is a critical building block in the process of learning. Inquiry places emphasis on the development of inquiry skills and attitudes that will enable individuals to continue the quest for knowledge as one gets older and throughout life.


K2 are learning all about transportation for their first Inquiry Unit of the year.Let's go into their classrooms and see how these children are doing with their inquiry!


Whoosh!We were flying high!


How did the K2 kids get to "ride" the plane at BMH? And what were their new experiences on the plane? Follow the children on this journey of discovery!


Each child was given a ticket when they entered the classroom on Monday morning; they had to think about what the ticket was for and why they had been given a ticket . 



The children shared lots of ideas with their teachers about where they thought we were going and how we would get there. Would we be traveling on a train , a boat or perhaps in a car?



Teachers led the children, ready with their tickets, downstairs to the Atrium where the airplane and pilot were waiting for us!


The children handed over their tickets and found their seats. We carefully listened to the safety announcement before fastening our seatbelts; we were ready for take off!



The children enjoyed their refreshments as we soared through the sky, enjoying the view as we flew through the sky. Finally, we landed safely back on land.



Back in the classroom, we shared our ideas and reflections on our airplane ride. The children shared ideas about where they thought we had travelled to, sharing ideas about what they needed for the airplane ride. 



We then completed our KWL chart together, asking the children what they currently know about transport, and  want they would like to find out over the course of the unit .


We can’t wait to explore the Inquiry Unit further and learn more about all different types of transportation.



Sometimes we think how cruel it would be if our children were to lose their curiosity and desire to explore a little as they grow up.


Get out of the classroom, use our senses, and get our own unique thinking in the experience. We hope that in this way, the children of BMH will extend their curiosity and longing a little bit, and a little bit more ......
