Chinese parents often ask me what to look for in an international school, there is so much confusion and every school that calls themselves an international school, is often only so in name. I have worked in many international schools so many years. After comparison, I finally settled for BCIS because of the following reasons:

    中国家长经常问我选择国际学校应该看什么，因为实在有太多的困惑，有一些自称国际学校的学校只是空有个名头。在众多国际学校工作过这么多年之后，我最终选择了BCIS，原因如下:

    1. We have a clear curriculum, we follow Common Core Standards, we have meetings twice a week with teachers in the USA to make sure we reach the same international standards and learning outcomes as students abroad. 

    BCIS有清晰的课程设置，我们遵循美国共同核心州立标准课程体系，每周与美国的教师举行两次会议，以确保学生的国际化程度和学习成果与美国学生持平。

    2. We have access to incredible resources: an English library, online resources used in the USA, UK, and Australia. No expense is spared on books we need or online resources for teachers.

    我们可以获得丰富的教学资源:英语图书馆，美国、英国和澳大利亚学生使用的在线资源。教学需要的书籍或在线资源，老师不需要自掏腰包，学校统一采购。

    3. We place great emphasis on close reading and writing because a student’s entire academic career is about reading and writing.

    我们非常重视精读和写作，因为学生的整个学术生涯就是阅读和写作。

    4. The teachers here are dedicated and committed to achieving international learning outcomes. Our Middle School Math and Science teacher has a long and dedicated teaching career and brings a wealth of knowledge. Our Chinese teachers are well-educated and provide invaluable support.

    5. Most of all, teachers are supported by a Principal committed to international education. He understands the challenges we as teachers face here and spares no expense to bring in resources to best prepare our students in a competitive international education market. He also understands the importance of holistic education that includes the arts, sport, and activities that produce well-rounded students with interesting personalities.

    最重要的是，我们的校长深耕国际教育25年，给了教师强有力的支持。他了解我们作为教师在这里所面临的挑战，并利用一切资源来帮助我们的学生在竞争激烈的国际教育市场中做好准备。他也看重全人教育，体现在学校的艺术、体育和活动等方面，以把我们的学生培养成为未来的世界公民。

    I have tutored many Chinese students who went on to top universities in the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia. I am still in touch with most of them, and they all say the same thing: Looking back, they realize how important close reading and writing is, they are surprised by the number of essays they have to write in every discipline: math, economics, history, business studies – all subjects require this type of commitment.

    Here at BCIS, we understand that. We place great emphasis on close reading and writing from a young age. We expose our students to exactly the same resources students in other western-focused countries are exposed to.

    We also have ESL teachers with years of experience to prepare students for higher education, not only with close reading or writing skills themselves but also for edutainment.

   For these reasons, I prefer to teach here at BCIS.

    基于以上原因，我更喜欢在BCIS教书。
