不被教室束缚!孩子们亲自搭上地铁去上课

纸上得来终觉浅,绝知此事要躬行。


孩子们在课堂上、老师教导中获得的知识,总是有限的。到生活中去学习,要在探究中获得自己的感知,这是BMH始终希望带给孩子们的“无价之宝”。


在学校里乘坐了“飞机”之后(详情请点这里),这一次,K2的孩子们走出校门,亲自去搭乘了一次地铁。



这或许是他们世界里微不足道的一次远行,但他们的一生却很难再找到这么一个时刻,能够和小伙伴们、老师手牵着手进行一次简单又有爱的地铁之旅。


在亲身实践之前,一切的准备都有利于孩子们加深对“地铁”的理解,我们在教室里也“花样百出”地让孩子们习得相关知识,开发他们的想象力。


在教室里,我们研究地铁地图和我们能看到和旅行的车站。在探究游戏中,我们创建了与地铁地图相关的活动,比如:建造我们自己的乐高地铁线路图。我们还在角色扮演区创建了自己想象中的“地铁站”。

同学们自己动手设计和制作了地铁标志、栏杆和车厢,他们脑子里的可爱想法绝对超乎你的想象。

BMH便利的交通条件,让孩子们能够在校门口就能轻松坐上地铁。我们和校医、学校保安一起前往地铁站,而且还邀请了热心的家长们共同带着孩子们开启新奇探索。





在走进站台之前,我们在售票处学习了如何规划自己的搭乘路线和自己买票。我们耐心地等着地铁进站,和同学、老师一起上车。我们观察车厢周围的环境,在地铁地图上找出我们要去的地方。



在候车通道和地铁上,我们还发现了各种不同标识,这些简单的图案和文字告诉我们重要的乘车信息。




整个搭乘地铁的过程中,同学们听从老师的指引,在地铁上做到安全乘车,顺利地完成了这次学习探究。


回到教室后,我们跟着地铁线路图回顾我们去过的地方,并让孩子们主动分享在地铁上的见闻。孩子们表示喜欢这次坐地铁的亲身体验,甚至迫不及待地想了解更多不同的交通系统,我们可以拭目以待探究课程的下一段精彩故事。


What's learned from books is superficial after all. It's crucial to have it personally tested somehow.

There is always a limit to what children can learn in the classroom and from their teachers. To learn in life and to gain their own perceptions through exploration is the “priceless treasure” that BMH always wants to bring to children.

After the "plane ride" at school (click here for more details), this time the K2 children went out of school and took a ride on the Metro themselves.

It may have been an insignificant trip, but it will be hard to find another moment in their lives when they can hold hands with their friends and teachers for a simple and loving journey on the metro.


Everything was prepared for the children to deepen their understanding of the 'underground' before the experience, and we did a variety of things in the classroom to help the children learn about it and develop their imagination.

In the classroom, we began exploring the metro map and the stations we could see and travel to. We engaged in activities linked to creating our own metro maps during Inquiry Play time, such as building our own LEGO metro system. We even decided to set up our very own metro station in the Role Play Area.


The children created their own metro signs, railings and carriage! So creative!


With the Mission Hills metro stop right on our doorstep, we decided to go for a ride! We caught the bus over to the metro stop and walked down the stairs to the metro station. Our Metro trip started, the children began to visit the metro station.



Then we walked down the stairs to the ticket office. We learned how to plan out our trip and buy our own tickets before walking down onto the platform. The children patiently waited for the metro to approach the platform before boarding with their friends and teachers.


We observed what we could see around us and identified where we were traveling to on the metro map. The children enjoyed identifying the different signs they could see inside and outside of the carriage.




After reaching our destination, we traveled back to Mission Hills; carefully following the signs to the correct train. The children were excellent at following their teachers directions to stay safe on board the metro. Very well done, K2!

Back in the classroom we explored the metro map to track where we had travelled to and shared our ideas about what we had seen. The children enjoyed learning first hand about the metro and can’t wait to investigate more about different transport systems and even create our own!
