我们为什么需要一个假期?


是孩子们需要一段时间让自己从日常的学习生活里抽身出来,好好地放松,为接下来的学习养精蓄锐;


是孩子们需要一段时间认识学习之外的自己,让自己变得充盈起来,去探索学校以外的空间,实现更多想做的事;


是孩子们需要一段时间放下学生的身份,和家人朋友在一起,彼此沟通,共谈心事。


在这段家长和孩子们在家相处的宝贵时间里,我们也希望家长们能够密切关注他们的成长,让他们无论在身体上、思想上还是心理上,都能够能保持健康的状态,一同度过愉快的新春佳节。


尽早地与孩子沟通、经常沟通


培养孩子参与、增加孩子的自我意识,并弄清楚你的孩子是怎么回事的最好方法,就是和他们进行开放式的沟通。尽早开始。从一个蹒跚学步的孩子开始,询问和讨论他们的情绪、兴趣、行为、朋友、苦恼和成功。如果这被视为你们日常关系的一部分,从长远来看是会有回报的。同时,跟孩子分享你自己的经历。孩子们喜欢听关于家人的故事,喜欢听你讲述自己的生活经历。


为孩子留出时间和空间


给他们你全部的注意力。每天都能用集中的一段时间、认真聆听他们的倾述会是很好的。关掉手机、真正地去倾听他们的交流。开车的路上或并肩走路时的交流会比面对面的询问更有成果!



密切关注孩子的情绪


在相处的过程中,家长要做好观察,当孩子出现情绪不稳定,如突然间没有原因地哭泣、发脾气,言语中表示出厌世等,要及时进行疏导,可以与社区工作站联系,或拨打心理热线求助。


帮助孩子适应变化


开学前要帮助孩子调整作息时间,检查寒假任务的完成情况,以利于学生返校时能够快速适应并减少开学的焦虑。如有任何问题,及时和班主任沟通,了解学校开学前的准备工作,让孩子有充分的心理准备适应开学生活。

As we enter this holiday period it is important to remind all our BMH families of the importance of maintaining our child’s positive ‘mental wellness.’


At BMH we pride ourselves on ensuring every child has the opportunity to develop both academically and holistically. This naturally helps contribute to each child having positive physical, mental and social wellness.


During the Spring Festival it may be that families are restricted in their planned travels and they have to once again spend a greater amount of time at home and in the immediate locality.


It is important that every child continues to live a brain healthy life. During the holiday it is important they look after their brain, their body, and their heart.



Have Conversations Early and Often


The best way to foster engagement, increase your child’s self-awareness, and to figure out what is going on with your child is to have open conversations. Start early. From being a toddler ask and talk about their mood, interests, behaviour, friends, struggles and successes. If this is seen as part of your routine relationship, it will pay off in the long run. Also, share your own experiences. Children love stories about family, and appreciate hearing what you went through in life.



Make time and space for your child


Give them your full attention. A little bit of undivided attention and active listening every day is great. Turn off your phone and really listen to them. A car journey or walk where you are side-by-side can be more fruitful than a face-to-face interrogation!


Pay close attention to your child's emotions


During the process of getting along, parents should make good observances, and when your children appear to be emotionally unstable, such as suddenly crying without a reason, throwing tantrums, and expressing misanthropy in their speech, they should be promptly guided, either by contacting a community workstation or calling a psychological hotline for help.



Helping children adapt to change


Before school starts, help your child adjust their work and rest schedule and check the completion of their tasks so that they can quickly adapt when they return to school and reduce their anxiety about starting school.If there are any problems, communicate with the classroom teacher in a timely manner to prepare your child for the start of school.
