Innovation is the soul of a school's progress and development. Only by actively accepting the challenges of the times can we win the future. As an international high school with a long history, how does SIFC keep pace with the times and grow into a unique international high school in its 18-years history?

Let us look at SIFC's innovative education through the launch of three innovative education projects of SIFC's: PBL Innovation Education Center, Tencent Education AI Lab, and Workshop of the Master Mind.

腾讯教育华南区负责人刘双女士、腾讯教育创想合作中心凌云总监也参与了深国预·腾讯教育人工智能创新实验室的揭牌仪式，刘双女士在活动中向我们介绍了腾讯教育以“科技+教育”为核心的发展目标，并分享：“腾讯青少年科技学习中心是纯公益、定制化和人才培养全链条的青少年科技培养体系平台，为未来创新型人才提供全周期的定向培育体系，为国家储备面向未来的科技行业人才。人工智能素养教育的内涵决定了它对学生能力培养、教师角色转变、学校教育模式提出新要求，以学习者为中心、体验式探究式的学习将成为传统课堂教学的一种有效的创新和替补，全面培养学生的人工智能科学思维、创新精神与实践能力。我们非常荣幸与深国预建立合作，一起加强我们对技术人才的重视与培养。”

“科技+教育”不仅应时代要求实现了教育变革，更是以学生的自主学习为起点，培养学生解决问题、知识迁移和引用的能力，也最大化利用师资资源、打破时空界限，真正实现自主化、个性化、灵活性的教学。未来，我们将持续努力，将深国预打造成为大湾区人工智能教育示范基地，助力培养下一代科技人才。

"Technology + education" not only realizes the requirement of educational reform in response to the call of the times, but also takes students' autonomous learning as the starting point to cultivate students' ability to solve problems, apply textbook knowledge, maximize the use of teacher resources, break the boundaries of time and space, and truly realize autonomy individualized, flexible teaching. In the future, we will continue to work hard to build SIFC into a demonstration base for artificial intelligence education in the Greater Bay Area to help cultivate the next generation of scientific and technological talents.

With the updating of teaching concepts, the related hardware and software facilities are also iterating at a high speed.

Ms. Liao Liting, Curriculum Director of PBL Innovation Education Center, said “ PBL Innovation Education Center is an interdisciplinary teaching and research center that aims to help students locate their academic interests in the real world, master the project development ability from 0 to 1, and form a personalized growth resume. We will carry out our work from three aspects: laboratory construction, interdisciplinary curriculum construction, and community building inside and outside the school. As a platform to connect community resources inside and outside the school, the center will rely on the network of colleges and parents to introduce excellent cooperation partner, present empirical teaching results, break the boundaries of campus, and create real scenarios for students' learning and practice”.

We believe that PBL and design thinking are the educational methods and strategy to take the essence of Chinese and Western education, which will bring the influence of children to change the world. Problem-centered, learner-centered, cooperative learning-centered—based on the three characteristics of PBL teaching, we will continue to explore and make progress on the basis of previous practical experience. In the diversified, rich and innovative courses, SIFC always takes the creation of academic international high schools as the core, focuses on the cultivation of students' academic literacy, and better promotes the comprehensive and individualized learning and development of each student, so as to provide innovative talents. 

Professor Fu Tengxiao, founder and principal of SIFC, said, “At SIFC, we always believe that parents are the school's partners, so home-school co-construction activities have become an important bridge for the school to communicate with parents. They are a powerful think tank of SIFC, and they are often responsible for on-campus activities and extra-curricular research, and they provide advice and suggestions, making great contributions to the all-round development of students. In various activities held by the SIFC, I often see members of the parents committee, supporting the development of the school.”

The establishment of the “ Workshop of the Master Mind ” not only further promotes the co-construction of home and school, but also strengthens the communication between SIFC, parents and authoritative experts in the education sector. It is an open platform for families, schools and society to jointly promote and grow together. 

Dr. Tracy, the academic principal of SIFC shared,“The international education of SIFC ensures that students can get full theoretical study and practice of Chinese and Western cultures in school. The significance of Workshop of the Master Mind is to break the pure theoretical learning process and meet students’ need to understand the world, bring them more resources, develop their horizons, stimulate students' enthusiasm to obtain knowledge, cultivate young people who can create value for the world.”

Ms. Shen Xi, Chairman of the SIFC Parent Committee, said, “The Workshop of the Master Mind has truly taken into account the demands of parents. I hope that experts and scholars can help students grow, and also hope that the strong group of parents can share resources and explore more for the development of SIFC and the growth of students.” We look forward to the insights of experts and hope that the landing of high-quality resources can really benefit students.

In the 18 years since SIFC’s established, it has been continuously introducing first-class educational resources for students and parents to help the college flourish. The introduction of teams of artists, Jeremy Lin-Li Qun basketball league, and world champion Wang Guan’team, and the establishment of Art Design Center, International Music Center, International Basketball Training Center, and Modern Pentathlon Center is the best proof. Therefore, we have reasons to believe that the establishment of “ Workshop of the Master Mind ”will surely inject new vitality into the development of SIFC.

As Principal Fu Tengxiao said "With the fast development of society, education will also face a big reform. Future-oriented education has been raised to an unprecedented height and will go forward. We understand the idea of whole person education cannot stay in words. The school should integrate diversified educational resources and starts to plan, design, and implement various educational and teaching activities around the core literacy. Only in this way, can the comprehensive improvement of students be achieved."

In the context of the new era, schools should also keep pace with the times. It requires us to expand the connotation of innovative education, broaden the extension of innovative education, and run it throughout the entire teaching activities of the school. When family and social resources are integrated into the school, fresh blood is injected into the school, which provides conditions for the further realization of whole-person education and multi-education, and realizes a co-education mechanism， in which the school, family and society are coordinated.
