ESL（English as a Second Language，以英语为第二语言/外语）是针对母语非英语的并把英语作为第二语言的语言学习者的专业英文课程，是外国学生申请美国大学所必修的一门语言课程。不仅可以提高语言水平，还可以更加深入地了解英美国家的社会结构和文化等，使自己的语言水平达到能够顺利在美国学习、生活的水平。

ESL课程有利于全面提高英语水平。对于一个国际学生来说，即使你的英文水平很好，但到达美国这样一个全英文的陌生环境中，还是会感觉英文水平不足以应付全新的生活。ESL课程是学习英语的系统化课程，实用性很强，可以从听说读写各个方面全面提高英语能力，可以使学生尽快地提升以英语进行会话交流以及写作、完成作业的能力，减小学生在课堂学习的压力。

Ms. Becky Chen has graduated with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Acquisition in English and Chinese. She has 15 years of experience in teaching English as an Additional Language and Mandarin Chinese as a Second Language. She wrote several articles about language and culture for Shenzhen based non-profit magazines. Ms. Becky Chen works exceptionally well with individual students and small group settings. She tailors lessons to suit personal learning styles and her teaching aligns with parents’ desired outcomes. She designs classes to match each student’s personal learning preference and needs. With Ms. Chen’s guidance, her students demonstrate evident progress and growth in their vocabulary, grammar, speaking skills, as well as their overall linguistic confidence.
