本学年，ELE 1 中文侧重于数字和象形文字。从第一季度和第二季度开始，我们学习了中国数字“一”到“十”。我们唱中文数字歌，学习数数，帮助孩子认识数字“一”到“十”的发音。我们使用橡皮泥和彩笔等不同的材料让孩子们认识中国数字的形状，这也有助于提高孩子的手指运动技能。我们读了一些有趣的故事，玩了一些游戏，让孩子们在学习中文的过程中获得了一些乐趣。

在中文课上，我们也庆祝一些传统节日。像新年活动，我们制作了手工鞭炮，听了《十二生肖的故事》。元宵节我们制作了灯笼和手工汤圆，让孩子们感受到了传统文化。

现在，从第三季度和第四季度开始，我们会学习象形文字。我们将学习如何识别图片、象形文字和汉字的区别。

This school year, ELE 1 Chinese focus on Numbers and Pictographs. From quarter 1 and quarter 2, we learned Chinese Number one to ten. We sang Chinese Number songs and learned how to count, which help kids to know the sound of number one to ten. We used different materials like play dough and color pen to let kids recognize the shape of Chinese numbers, which help improve kid’s finger motor skills also. We read some interesting stories and played some games to let kids have some fun of learning Chinese.

During Chinese class, we also celebrate some traditional festivals. Like Chinese new year activity, we made handcrafts firecrackers and listen to the story of 《The Chinese Zodiac》.We made lanterns and handmade rice balls for the Lantern Festival, which let kids feel the traditional culture.

Now, from quarter 3 and quarter 4, we are learning pictographs. We will learn how to recognize the difference of picture, pictograph, and Chinese character.
