六年级-四海公园之旅
Grade 6 Walking Field Trip to Sihai Park
实地考察让学生可以直接接触各种环境。现在孩子们没有机会直接观察植物。SAIS有幸拥有一个美丽的公园，拥有不同种类的植物和栖息地。感谢给我们一个机会去外面观察不同的植物并应用知识。六年级一直在学习植物、特性和不同类型的植物繁殖、种子传播。2023年2月24日，六年级学生有机会去四海公园出游。
向学生分发了一份包含所有必要词汇的讲义，并要求他们尽可能多地观察、拍照和录像。六年级的三位家长与老师一起陪伴学生。允许学生携带手机和相机拍照。Steven和Wenyu带着他们的无人机，在水中和无法到达的地方拍摄了不同植物的美丽照片。他们甚至在水中捕获了一些鸟类和鸭子。学生们被分成小组，开始看到他们在课堂上学到的东西。他们很高兴能够应用这些知识并拥有它。看到学生们使用科学词汇，如蕨类植物、向光性、向触性、向地性、维管植物、非维管植物、被子植物、裸子植物等，真是太神奇了。
下一步是，学生们使用他们拍摄的图片和视频制作视频，为学校的其他学生提供虚拟实地考察体验。
Field trips allow students get direct access to various environments. Nowadays Children are not getting a chance to directly observe the plants. SAIS is fortunate enough to have a beautiful Park besides it with different kinds of plants and habitats. Thanks to the beautiful weather for giving us an opportunity to go outside and observe different plants and apply the knowledge. Grade 6 have been studying about plants, Characteristics and different types of plant reproduction, seed dispersal. On Feb 24th, 2023 Grade 6 students got a chance to go to walking field trip to Sihai park.
A handout was given to the students with all the necessary vocabulary and asked them to observe as many as they can, take pictures and videos. Three parents of Grade 6 helped in chaperoning the students along with the teacher. Students were allowed to bring their phones and cameras to take pictures. Steven and Wenyu brought their drones and captured beautiful pictures of different plants which are in water and unreachable places. They even captured some birds and ducks in water. The students were divided into groups and began to see that what they have learnt in the classroom. They were very excited to apply the knowledge and own it. Its amazing to see the students using the science vocabulary like Fiddleheads, Phototropism, Thigmotropism, Gravitropism, Vascular, nonvascular, Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, adaptations, etc.
Next step is, Using the pictures and videos they have captured, Students are making a video to give a virtual field trip experience to the other students at the school.

去公园感觉回到了加拿大，才知道中国的花比加拿大多。
I felt like I was back in Canada when I was going to the park and I learned that there were many flowers in china than in Canada.
Clementine Abbott：
在外面看着所有的裤子真的很令人兴奋，弄清楚它们是否是被子植物之类的东西很有趣。有这份清单很好，因为它帮助我弄清楚我们在寻找什么。
It was really exciting to be outside and looking at all the pants it was fun figuring out if they were angiosperms and stuff like that. It was nice having the list because it helped me figure out what we were looking for.
Steven Wu：

Emma Sheng：
这次出游很开心，我们在公园里学到了很多植物，发现了很多有趣的动物，Steven 和 Wenyu 带了无人机，非常酷，他们拍了很多照片。
he trip is happy and fun, we learn many plant and found many interesting animal in the park, Steven and Wenyu bring drone, it was very cool and they took many picture.
