As part of our school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education, Grade 3 students recently participated in an exciting and educational Tiny House Project. The project was designed to help students develop key skills in mathematics and ELA-literacy, as well as success skills such as collaboration and communication.

Throughout the project, student design teams consulted with clients to learn about their budget, needs, and personal preferences. They used this information, along with key mathematics skills related to measurement and geometry, to design and create prototypes of custom tiny homes for their clients. Students also read about housing, tiny homes, and construction and applied what they learned from their reading to their designs and presentations.

The project was not only educational, but it was also a fun and engaging experience for the students. They worked in teams to create two-dimensional and three-dimensional models of their tiny homes and presented their final layout, model, and opinion paragraph to their clients.

In addition to these skills, the project also helped students develop success skills such as collaboration and communication.

The Tiny House Project was a great opportunity for students to engage in tactile and kinesthetic learning experiences that helped them to understand math. It also provided an opportunity to connect their learning about tiny homes to their own experiences with different kinds of buildings.

Overall, the Tiny House Project was an excellent opportunity for Grade 3 students to develop a love for learning and a passion for exploring new ideas. It was a fun and educational experience that they will remember for years to come. We are proud to offer unique and engaging projects like this at our school, and we look forward to continuing to provide our students with opportunities to learn and grow in exciting ways.
