深国预数学与科学月 | 纸上得来终觉浅,绝知此事要躬行

子曰:“知之者不如好之者,好之者不如乐之者。” 知之、好之、乐之,这是对于学习三种不同层次的热爱:第一层次"知之",懂得如何学习、知道应该学习;第二层次"好之",是对于"学习"这件事的兴趣爱好、情感倾向;第三层次"乐之",是由学习引发的快乐、由学习带来的满足、由学习获取的幸福。


这正是我想借着数学与科学月让同学们明白的道理。我希望同学们能够把学习作为一种追求、一种爱好、一种积极的生活方式。做到好学乐学,把"要我学"变为"我要学”,把"学四年”(这里指深国预高中四年)变为"学一生”。

三月,是深国预的学科主题月——“数学与科学月”。这是一项重要的校园传统活动,全校师生浸润在浓厚的学术氛围当中。STEM Fair、πDay、理科海报评展、Quiz Bowl答题挑战、参观深圳湾实验室、智能穿戴设备讲座……同学们在丰富的活动中全面感知数学与科学的魅力。

March is SIFC's "Mathematics and Science Month". This is an important campus tradition that immerses us in a strong academic atmosphere. STEM Fair, πDay, STEM Posters Exhibitions, Quiz Bowl, visiting the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, giving lectures on smart wearable devices... Students fully perceive the charm of mathematics and science with rich activities.


为什么我们不叫“数学月”或者“科学月”,而是叫“数学与科学月”?

Why don't we call it "Math Month" or "Science Month" but "Math and Science Month"?


因为这其中融合了科学、技术、工程、数学多个学科的知识,从而帮助深国预同学们提升跨学科融合能力、解决问题的能力,提升科学素质,激发创新潜能,更好地应对未来的变化。正如深国预一直以来倡导的那样——教育的使命,就是让每个学生都幸福快乐地成长,并为他们的未来幸福奠基。

Because it integrates the knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, it helps SIFC students improve their interdisciplinary integration ability, cultivate their ability to solve problems, stimulate their scientific quality and innovation potential, and better cope with future changes. As SIFC has always advocated - the mission of education is to enable every student to grow up happily and lay the foundation for their future happiness.

寻找理科美学

STEM Posters Exhibitions


理科生浪漫起来,谁都顶不住!不同于文学、社会科学和艺术,理科的美难以用视觉语言传达,而同学们采取的“海报”形式,恰如其分地展示了数学与科学的魅力,体现了他们丰富的理论知识基础和创造性思维。这些作品都会被深国预所珍藏,成为学科月的烙印,记载同学们少年时代对理科的学术热忱。



走近深圳湾科研实验室

深国预同学们在老师的带领下参观了大型科研实验室——深圳湾实验室。这里聚集了来自哈佛大学、斯坦福大学等全球Top100高校或科研机构的资深科研人员,开展药物发现、临床研究等专业医疗项目,构建青年科研人才引育新生态。这是同学们第一次步入解决真实问题的大型实验室,在自由、开放、严谨的学术交流氛围中,碰撞出更多灵感的火花,建立科学理论与真实世界的连接。


智能穿戴设备讲座

哈士奇和金毛成了校园里的明星!深国预科创社团特邀斯坦福大学生物信息学博士,给同学们带来在斯坦福读书以及在谷歌工作的分享,同时通过两只小动物的展示,同学们了解并学习到宠物智能穿戴设备相关知识。这是一场关乎科创与爱心的课堂,同学们不仅学习如何通过科技解决真实世界的现实问题,也开始深刻思考关爱动物、扶持弱势群体、人类发展与世界环境等问题。


π的尾巴有多长?

πDay


πDay,深国预组织了一项传统又具有极大挑战性的竞赛——全校师生背诵圆周率,谁背出的“尾巴”最长谁就获胜!圆周率小数点后面无限不循环,非常适合作为检验和训练记忆力的工具。圆周率的记忆训练被称之为“大脑体操”,不仅可以让思维更加敏捷,还能提升联想能力和记忆速度。


与知识共舞

互动式Stem问答(Interactive STEM Quizzes)、控制机器人(Controlling a Robot)、红绿灯反应(Traffic Light Reactions)、大象牙膏(Elephant Toothpaste)、平衡木块(Balancing  Wooden Blocks)、组装假器官(Physiology)、求证等式(Proof!)、宾果游戏(Hardcore Bingo)、数独(SUDOKU)、垄断周期表(Monopoly of Periodic Table)……与去年相比,今年的Stem Fair增多了一系列与“创新”“科技”相关的活动,也扩大了活动参与度。Stem Fair 这一天,无论是舞台前后还是摊位中间,并不存在所谓的“英语老师”“社科老师”,全校师生都化身为Stem挑战者,沉浸在趣味性的学科竞赛中,突破认知的边界。

数学与科学月活动的开展,极大程度地调动了同学们的学习积极性。作为数学与科学月的“活跃分子”之一,Jason Xiao 向大家分享到:“πDay让我印象深刻,这一天,很多平常不太擅长理科、不爱参加校园活动的同学们也被πDay所吸引,积极地背诵、练习,与他人进行良性竞争。我们还通过制作和展示学科海报,把严肃、生硬的理论用卡通等生动形象的方式呈现出来。整个过程很开心,不仅锻炼了我独立学习的能力,也拓展了各个学科领域的知识。”

The launch of the Math and Science Month activities has greatly mobilized the students' enthusiasm for learning. As one of the "activists" of Mathematics and Science Month, Jason Xiao shared with everyone: "I am deeply impressed by πDay. On this day, many students who are not good at mathematics and do not like to participate in campus activities are also attracted by πDay. Recite, practice, and compete with others. STEM Posters allow us to present serious theoretical knowledge in vivid ways such as cartoon drawings. The whole process is very happy, it not only exercised my independent learning ability but also gave me more opportunities to gain knowledge in various areas of the science disciplines.”


深国预化学老师Joy Duan认为这次活动为同学们提供了很好的机会,让他们得以在科学活动中激发自己的潜能,全方位提升科创能力与技能。他说:“本次活动是全校同学的舞台,我们将活动的自主权交给了学生,鼓励他们承担更多的责任来组织和管理他们的学习和项目。在我们精心设计的活动中,学生可以认识到科学、技术、工程与数学与我们日常生活的紧密联系,也激发他们积极关心地球与社会,发现这个时代所面临的挑战,并树立解决问题的愿望和信心。”

Joy Duan, a chemistry teacher at SIFC, believes that this event provides a good opportunity for students to stimulate their potential in scientific activities and improve their ability and skills in scientific innovation in an all-around way. He said: "This activity is the stage for all the students. We delivered the ownership of study and activity and problem-solving to students. Students take more responsibility to organize and manage their studies and projects. We intended to inspire students to actively care about our society and the planet, find out the challenges we are facing in this age and set the aspiration to solve the problems. So, we incorporate hot topic in this activity."


融汇中西、文理兼备——“数学与科学月”的开展,让我们看到STEM概念已经植根于深国预的理科教育理念之中,向下扎根,向上生长。不仅是校园活动,STEM概念更是深入课堂,渗透在日常教学的方方面面。对此,深国预数学组组长Krishna谈到:“在深国预的课堂上,我们会通过动手实践活动(例如构建原型、进行实验和解决现实问题)、计算机编程软件、项目制教学来完成STEM 教育的应用,这可以帮助学生培养批判性思维和解决问题的能力,使 STEM 概念更加立体、更加有趣。我们希望,学生未来即使离开了学校,也能将他们所学的知识和技能应用到现实世界中。”

The launch of Mathematics and Science Month shows that the concept of STEM has been rooted in the philosophy of science education at SIFC, taking root downwards and growing upwards. Not only campus activities, but the concept of STEM goes deep into the classroom and permeates all aspects of daily teaching. In this regard, Krishna, the leader of the SIFC Mathematics Group, said: "Teachers can enhance STEM education by incorporating hands-on activities like building prototypes, conducting experiments, and solving real-world problems in their classes. These activities can help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, making STEM concepts more tangible and interesting. Additionally, project-based learning can be an effective way to promote the application of STEM education, where students work on a project that requires them to use STEM concepts to solve a specific problem or create a product. This encourages students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations and develop collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. Lastly, integrating technology like simulations, online tools, or computer programming software into STEM classes can help students visualize and apply STEM concepts."




随着人工智能取得突破性进展,这个时代的科学技术以前所未有的速度更新迭代,传统教育模式培育的人才已经难以满足时代的要求。掌握跨学科能力、创新能力、解决问题能力的多元人才才能顺应科技的发展,是我们举办数学与科学月的真正意义所在。无论是“数学与科学月”,还是其他的学术活动,我们希望学生在这些“非传统的教与学”中挖掘出内心的潜能与能量,在更广阔的世界里继续生长。

The talents cultivated by the traditional education model are no longer able to meet the requirements of the times, and only diverse talents can adapt to the development of science and technology. This is the reason why we hold Math and Science Month. Whether it is "Mathematics and Science Month" or other academic activities, we hope that students will tap their inner potential and energy in these "non-traditional teaching and learning" and continue to grow in a wider world.
