作为美国大学学术难度的考试，AP考试的分数表现被绝大多数美国大学接受，AP考试的分数会被考试中心换算成1-5分，获得5分满分将会在美国大学相关专业的申请中获得招生官的更多青睐。

而学校提供AP课程作为选修课让孩子们修读，高年级的孩子普遍会选读一些感兴趣的科目。今年深美学校开设了AP化学、中文、环境科学、心理学、英美文学、人文地理、宏观经济学、微观经济学、微积分、物理、生物、统计等十余门AP课程。学有余力且兴趣广泛的孩子有修读8门AP的，AP课程的修读帮助孩子们在美国大学打下学术基础。

The school provides AP courses as elective courses for children, and children in the upper grades generally choose to take some interesting subjects. We have some students who are able to study and have a wide range of interests have taken 8 AP courses. Taking AP courses helps children lay the academic foundation in American universities.

AP考试由学生在2-3小时内完成，试卷通常由2部分组成：选择题和主观题。选择题包括单选和多选题；主观题包括写一篇文章阐述问题的解决方案、提出问题和分析题中问题等。

AP考试持续时间较长，且不少选读了几门课的学生会连续参与不同科目的考试，这对孩子的精力是一个挑战。AP考试前一晚需要家长提醒孩子早点入睡，早点到学校做准备，携带白水和一些补充精力的零食，把文具都装在透明的袋子里。电子产品的使用是被严格禁止的，一旦在任何一场考试中发现电子产品被携带入考场，考生今年所有的AP考试成绩都将被取消。
