Have you considered learning a language through music? Music is an additional resource to help reinforce language learning.

A good song is the quintessence of the linguistic, poetic, and musical components of the beauty of speech. By emphasizing the pronunciation and intonation of each syllable, a song is a valuable tool for improving conversational language skills for foreign language learners. Like no other language, this applies to Chinese, with its phonetic features.

我们该如何选择中文歌曲呢？

There are many different types and genre music online, what kind of music should we choose for our kid?  My rules are simple and easy. Pop music and classic kid songs are in alternative with understandable lyrics at their age. The options are endless. Always remember, put their interests in the first place and you will get a perfect class! Below is a playlist of Chinese music for kids. 

《奇迹再现》是我们中文课学习的第一首歌曲。它改编自日本动漫的主题曲，我们演唱的是中文版本。小朋友们非常喜欢，有时我都会惊讶他们是怎么记住这么多歌词和动作的。

这足以说明一首好的歌曲能够让孩子们对其中的内容印象深刻，在朗朗上口的旋律中记住大量的细节。

Qi ji zai xian (miracles reappearance) is the first song we learned together. It’s a popular song from Japanese cartoon. We sang in Chinese version. Kids loved it! It’s amazing to see how they can remember all the lyrics and moves. 

What is particularly great about songs is that they make the content stick in kids head through the melody. They can remember a surprising amount of detail if it goes with a catchy tune.

当来到清明节的那一周，我们学习了《外婆的澎湖湾》。以此来纪念我们与老一辈家人之间的美好回忆。这些美好的回忆会牢牢记在我们的脑海里。与此同时，我们还准备一个小小的演讲。小朋友们展示他们和家人的照片，跟我们分享和家人们的难忘瞬间。

When it came to the week of Qing Ming festival, we learned Wai po de peng hu wan ( Grandma’s Penghu bay ) to cherish our memory with our elder families. All those good memories stay in our mind. We also had a speech by children holding their family photos to tell the stories with their families.
