Why did you choose the Shenzhen Observatory as a trip site?

“策划这场研学的首要任务，是让同学们在开学一个月之后进行一次全身心的放松。但是这次放松又不能是纯粹的玩乐，还要拥有教育意义，所以一开始我是很纠结的。”本次活动的主策划人，威睿达思（深圳）的德育主任Alice说。

"The first priority in planning this study was to give the students a total relaxation after a month of school. But this relaxation can't be pure fun, it also has to possess educational significance, so I was torn at first." Alice, the main planner of this field trip and the moral education teacher of VCASZ, said.

“选择深圳天文台，一是因为天文台地势较高，无论如何孩子们都是需要进行一定的徒步运动的，对他们的体能有好处；二是天文台位于大鹏新区，离市区特别远，我们的学生从小还是主要在城市里面生活，体验自然的机会并不算丰富，所以也想借机让他们多去接触一下自然。像山路，阳光，海风，清新的空气，滚烫的沙滩等等，这些都是与自然建立联系的很好的途径。当然最重要的一点也是孩子们最近的课程有接触一部分的天体物理，通过这样的形式去把理论和实践结合，也有助于提升孩子们对课程的兴趣。”

"One of the reasons of choosing the Shenzhen Observatory is that the Observatory terrain is high. In any case, the children are required to carry out a certain amount of hiking exercise, which is godd for their physical fitness; Another reason is that the Observatory is located in the Dapeng New District, particularly far away from the city. Our students grew up mainly in the city. The opportunity of experiencing the nature is not really rich, so I also want to take the chance to let them contact more with the nature. Mountain paths, sunshine, sea breeze, fresh air, hot sandy beaches and so on are all good ways to establish connections with nature. Of course, the most important thing is that the children have been exposed to astrophysics as part of their recent course, and combining theory and practice in this way will also help to raise their interest in the course."

“烧烤这个形式的午餐其实远没有海鲜餐厅的围餐来得精致豪华，但是好处就在于每个人都可以自己动手，每个人也都可以帮助他人。我这次特别满意的地方就在于，男生们都非常地绅士，女生们也不会坐享其成，反而是大家一起合作动手制作食物。其实在制作烧烤的过程中，很容易出现调料放得不对，或者说烤糊了没烤熟之类的小状况。学会如何处理自己造成的小失误和接受别人犯的小错误，其实也是孩子们这次研学必修的一课。”

"A barbecue is a far less elaborate and luxurious form of lunch than a seafood restaurant, but the beauty of it is that everyone gets to do their own thing and everyone gets to help others. What I particularly liked about this time was that the boys were very gentlemanly and the girls didn't just sit back and enjoy the meal. Instead they worked together to make their food. In fact, during the process of making barbecue, it is very easy to put in the wrong seasoning, or say that the grill is not cooked properly and other small situations. Learning how to deal with small mistakes caused by themselves and accepting small mistakes made by others is in fact a compulsory lesson for the children in this field trip."
