消防安全应急疏散演练

November 9, 2023, marked the 32nd National Fire Prevention Day in China, and November is also designated as the National Fire Safety Publicity and Education Month. In order to further strengthen fire safety education for both teachers and students, enhance the overall awareness of fire safety throughout the school, and equip everyone with specific methods for self-rescue, evacuation, and self-protection, creating a favorable fire safety environment, our school conducted an emergency evacuation drill for fire safety on the morning of November 28th.

The school has established an Emergency Evacuation Drill Command Team, which is fully responsible for organizing and overseeing the emergency evacuation drill. They have carefully planned and designated emergency evacuation routes and safe havens both within the school and its surroundings. Detailed arrangements have been made for the drill requirements, handling unexpected situations, and other related aspects.

Before the evacuation, each class organized students to participate in a concentrated fire safety education activity. This aimed to ensure that all students understand the importance of the drill. Using various forms, the activity guided students to grasp fire safety knowledge, disseminated essential precautions during evacuation, and familiarized students in advance with the correct methods and routes for fire evacuation. The goal is to empower students to be well-versed in the correct procedures for emergency fire response.

At 9:50 in the morning, Assistant Principal Wei Xutao announced the commencement of the fire emergency evacuation drill, and the fire alarm sounded instantly. All teaching staff took their designated positions according to the emergency evacuation plan. Class teachers swiftly directed and led their respective classes, adhering to the fire safety emergency procedures.

Subsequently, the emergency medical rescue team conducted a simulated rescue scenario, and medical personnel provided on-site "medical treatment" to the "injured." 

Director Liang from the Safety Office emphasized the need for a proactive mindset, urging us to firmly establish awareness of fire safety and conscientiously learn about fire safety. When danger is imminent, maintaining composure is crucial, and each department must fulfill its responsibilities to ensure the orderly evacuation of all teachers and students. Director Liang expressed the hope that everyone would always prioritize life and safety, and be proactive in preventing potential hazards before they "ignite."

To enhance the practicality of the drill, the school invited an officer from the Wutongshan Fire Station to provide a detailed explanation of fire extinguisher usage, accompanied by a demonstration of proper procedures by on-site firefighters. Student representatives were also invited to participate in hands-on fire extinguishing exercises, allowing them to understand the proper use of fire extinguishers through direct perception, practical application, and personal experience.

In addition, the children had a close encounter with a fire engine. With the guidance of the firefighters, the children learned about the various equipment inside the fire truck and its crucial role in firefighting and rescue operations. This interactive experience provided the children with a vivid safety education lesson, reinforcing their awareness of fire safety.

This drill not only familiarized all teachers and students with the evacuation routes in the event of a fire but also equipped everyone with basic methods for swift evacuation, self-rescue, and mutual assistance in dangerous situations.
