The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Shekou International School (SIS) is students' final two-year course in Grades 11 and 12. This programme helps SIS to fulfil its mission to provide a rigorous education in a caring community and inspire our students to become principled, innovative contributors in a transforming world.

The Diploma Programme: A Rigorous Education 

Students take six subjects: literature, language acquisition, humanities, sciences, mathematics, and the arts. Because each group is compulsory, students gain a balanced and comprehensive understanding of the knowledge that drives our world. As three subjects are taken at a higher level and three at a standard level, students can specialize in subjects that interest them. Depending on the institution, higher-level courses often qualify students for advanced credit at post-secondary institutions due to their depth and rigour.

SIS: A Caring Community 

Students are assigned a mentor who will accompany them over two years. This mentor, along with experienced Diploma Programme teachers, helps students navigate the self-management and organization skills required to succeed.

Students: Principled, Innovative Contributors 

Through planning, researching, and writing their Extended Essay – a project of 4000 words – students understand the process and the excitement of making their contributions to research. Through their CAS programme, students understand how to find balance and give back to their communities. Through Theory of Knowledge, students understand the nature of knowledge and its reliability in a world being transformed through artificial intelligence.

IBDP文凭课程: 严谨的教育

在IBDP课程中，学生需要修习六门科目，包括文学、语言习得、人文、科学、数学和艺术。每个科目组合都是必修的，使学生们对推动世界进步的各个方面的知识有一个平衡和全面的理解。由于课程涵盖三门高等级别课程，以及三门标准级别课程，学生有机会专注于他们个人感兴趣的领域。根据院校的不同，基于课程的深度和严谨性，高等级别课程通常使学生有资格在高等教育机构获得学分。
