On August 21st, the school held a grand opening ceremony. In a solemn atmosphere, the principal and teachers delivered inspiring speeches and put forward the expectations and requirements for the students in the new semester.
On September 25th, the student council election came to an end. After a fierce competition, the heads of each department were elected and the management members of the student union were established.
On September 26th, VCASZ organized a field trip to the Observatory. Led by professional instructors, students visited the observing equipment and astronomical specimens of Dapeng Observatory and conducted field observations.
The 15-day study tour to Budapest kicked off on September 30th. During this time, students visited local historical places, museums and academic institutions, and had in-depth exchanges and discussions with local students.
On October 18th, the school held a warm and special birthday party for students who had birthdays in October. The event was decorated in a warm and romantic way, with various kinds of food and fun games. Students sang birthday songs and sent blessings to the birthday celebrities, and the sound of laughter rose and fell.
On October 24th, our VCA principal and a delegation of teachers and students were invited to attend the school's Cornerstone Dinner. During the dinner, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on educational philosophy and teaching methods.
On October 26, the school held a unique Halloween party. Students dressed up in a variety of creative costumes and participated in a parade and various fun games. The party not only let students feel the joyful atmosphere of the festival, but also enriched their campus cultural life.
On November 1st-2nd, the school held a mid-term examination. The exam covered the key knowledge points of each subject, aiming to test the students' learning results in the half semester. Through the examination, students can find their shortcomings, adjust their learning strategies and methods in time, and further improve their academic level.
On November 10, we held a parents' meeting. At the meeting, school leaders, teachers and parents had an in-depth exchange of views on students' learning situation, campus life and other aspects.
On November 14, we held the sports festival. Students participated in a variety of interesting sports and team competitions, which not only exercised their bodies and strengthened their physical fitness, but also cultivated the spirit of teamwork and sense of collective honor.
On November 23rd, the school hosted a Thanksgiving dinner to express our gratitude for the hard work of the students and teachers. During the dinner, everyone enjoyed the traditional Thanksgiving food and shared each other's growth and harvest.
On November 29th, the school invited professionals to give a lecture on patents to the students. The lecture introduced in detail the patent application process, protection strategies and the importance of intellectual property rights.
On November 30, Mark Keating, principal of the Chesapeake Campus, visited us and had an in-depth exchange with teachers and students. He introduced the leadership program of Chesapeake Campus and encouraged students to actively expand their international horizons. The visit further strengthened the friendship and cooperation between the two schools and created more opportunities for future educational exchanges and cooperation.
From December 19th to 21st, we held a monthly examination. This is an important test of the students' recent learning achievements. The exam was designed to help students find out their own problems in knowledge mastery and application, and provide direction for the next study. Students took the exam seriously, showing a positive learning attitude and a solid knowledge base.
On December 21st, we held Christmas Carnival and December Birthday Party. The event was decorated in a warm and festive atmosphere, with a Christmas round-up dinner, a series of games and gift-giving sessions. Students were immersed in the joyful atmosphere and had an unforgettable Christmas. At the same time, the best wishes and warm surprises were sent to the students who had birthdays in December.
From January 15th to 17th, the final exams came as scheduled. This exam is a comprehensive test of the whole semester's learning results, students are all fully committed, and strive to draw a perfect conclusion for their semester.
On January 19th, we held the first semester closing ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year. Teachers and students reviewed the growth and harvest of this semester. The principals spoke highly of the students' performance in learning, character and sports. At the same time, we also put forward high expectations for the new semester, encouraging students to make persistent efforts to achieve better results.
Just yesterday, VCASZ students took a flight from HK airport to the U.S. to participate in a 16-day winter camp across the ocean, where they will meet professors from prestigious schools, experience the learning atmosphere of prestigious schools, and feel the local culture.
