Learning Stories of Our Young Learners

How time flies! To Immersion's young learners, October has been such a busy month for our Preparatory students. They have experienced Kindness month, the first Goal Setting Conference, and Halloween celebrations all within the last month. They are growing up every day in Immersion community and they are eager to show us how to learn and talk about the world around them!

Preparatory learners are negotiators and collaborators. Morning Meeting and Closing Circle experiences help students to contribute to the class learning community. Students practice team building and taking turns through social learning. PY students build language acquisition skills through becoming a reader and writer, and daily conversations with peers and teachers. They love to Stop, Drop, and Read with visiting teachers. PY students build kindness together by using kind words and actions with each other. They learn through vocabulary, imagination, role play, investigation, and creativity.

These are just a few of the ways we are learning in Preparatory year. We are excited to see more possibilities and memories that our young students can create in the rest of school year!

低年级学生学习剪影

时光飞逝!对于我们低年级的学生来说十月可真是一个忙碌而又充实的月份。在过去的一个月里,他们体验了“善良主题月”,成功开展了本学年第一场目标设定家长会,还在学校和大家一起度过了愉快的万圣节。在Immersion的每一天,孩子们每一天都在成长,他们迫不及待地向大家展示他们如何学习,如何了解身边发生的一切!

低年级学生是良好的磋商者合作者——在晨会和一日回顾中,孩子们学会如何为班集体做贡献;他们通过社会服务项目活动学习团队建设以及体验如何轮流服务;他们通过阅读和写作,以及与同伴和老师的日常对话来培养和习得更高的语言能力;他们热情参与Stop, Drop and Read 活动(Stop, Drop, and Read 活动指的是在“善良主题月“期间,由低年级发起的邀请不同老师到班级为学生讲故事的活动);他们还学会了用友好的语言和举动来相互传递善良。他们无时不刻在通过词汇、想象、角色扮演、调查和创造来尝试不同的学习。
