Celebrate the Chinese New Year!
庆祝春节！
Spring Festival celebrations were HUGE at Net Valley this year. We had 20+ Chinese Cultural workshops offered by a mixture of our own staff and experts from the community. Additionally, we had a couplet decorating contest and an assembly, which included performances from staff and students, a dragon dance and a face changer. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to put together such a fantastic experience for our community.
网谷校区今年举行了隆重盛大的春节庆祝活动，现场有我们的工作人员和社区专家带来了20多个中国文化工作坊。我们还开展了春联装饰、墙绘大赛和集会，现场有精彩的师生表演、舞狮和京剧变脸等活动。感谢每位成员努力为我们的社区带来美妙体验。

Varsity Soccer Wins 1st Match of Season!

Fresh back from holiday, the Varsity Soccer teams travelled out to Qianhai to play Harrow. Both the boys and girls came back with victories – a great start to our season! Go Geckos!

Sports Consultant Spends Time at SIS

Our PHE teachers and coaches spent time with Jack Rolfe, founder of The Coaching Lab. On his first trip to China, he shared his MatchPlay cards and some tips & tricks to improve teaching and learning in practices and PE classes. The beauty of this profession is that we never stop learning.

Shenzhen International Youth Orchestra
深圳国际青年交响乐团
The Shenzhen International Youth Orchestra (SIYO) hosted their second debut charity concert at ISNS on Feb. 3rd. The orchestra's outstanding performance in this concert received enthusiastic applause from the audience. We thank all the players, conductors, and teachers for the awesome performance, their hard work and dedication as well as SIS’s support to make this performance happen! It was a thrilling performance, and we look forward to our next concerts later this academic year!
2月3日深圳国际青年交响乐团(SIYO)在ISNS举办了他们的第二场慈善音乐会。乐团在本场音乐会上的出色表演赢得了现场观众的热烈掌声。我们感谢所有的演奏者、指挥家和老师们令人惊叹的表演，感谢他们的辛勤工作和奉献，以及SIS对本次演出的支持！这是一场激动人心的表演，我们期待着本学期的下一场演唱会！
Extended Essay Celebration Lunch
拓展论文课聚餐
The DP 2 Grade 12 students celebrated another milestone towards achieving their Diplomas with the Extended Essay celebration lunch on February 2nd. Students had a celebration lunch with Bubble Tea provided by SISPSA, followed by a presentation and explanation of the Extended Essays to the current DP1 Grade 11 students, who have just begun their Extended Essay cycle in January. Grade 11 students had a chance to better understand the process and learn about the challenges and opportunities of the Extended Essay – a key component of the Core of the Diploma Programme. Congratulations to Grade 12 students!
DP2 12年级的学生在2月2日进行了举行了扩展论文聚餐会，庆祝他们攻下文凭课程的又一个里程碑。同学们享用由SIS PSA提供的午餐和珍珠奶茶，并向DP1的11年级同学介绍扩展论文内容。11年级同学刚在1月份开启了他们的扩展论文周期起点，现在有机会对文凭课程其一核心关键组成部分的过程及挑战和机遇有更深的了解。祝贺12年级的同学！
Collaborative Sciences Project
协作科学项目
The DP1 Grade 11 Students had a chance to understand the opportunities and challenges of data collection in the Collaborative Sciences Project that happened on February 5th-6th. Students from different science classes worked together to identify a sustainability issue at SIS. Over two days, they collected data to better understand the issue and made recommendations for the school community. Middle School and High School students visited the exhibition at the end to learn more about the project and understand how science can help make positive change in our local communities.
DP1 11年级的同学有机会在2月5-6日的协作科学项目中了解数据收集项目的机会和挑战。来自不同科学班级的同学共同合作，确定SIS的可持续发展事宜。在两天的时间里，他们收集数据、更好地探讨问题并为学校社区提出建议。最后初高中学生参观展览，深入了解项目信息，并思考理解科学是如何帮助我们当地社区做出积极的改变。
Parenting Teenagers the Positive Discipline Way

We had a great showing of parents for our Positive Discipline ParentEDU series.
感谢各位家长积极踊跃参加我们的正面管教ParentEDU系列活动。
Our former student Nanako A has returned to Japan and successfully donated 360,000 JPY (17,291 CNY) to the "Japan Red Cross 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund" on February 6th, which includes the entire amount of revenue and personal donations from our Net Valley Geckos. We hope this contribution will provide needed assistance to those affected by the earthquake.
我们的学生Nanako A 已经回国并于2月6日向日本红十字会2024能登半岛地震救灾基金捐赠了网谷校区全部筹款及个人捐款共计36万日元(约合17291元人民币) 。我们希望这能为受灾地区人们提供所需帮助。
Grade 5 Transition - Learning Net Valley
五六年级升学过渡 - 在网谷校区学习
We are looking forward to hosting our Grade 5 Geckos next Wednesday, February 28 for the 2nd of 3 transition visits. Next week will focus on giving Grade 5 a glimpse of what learning is like at Net Valley. Students will get to shadow a “real-live” middle school student to see how everything works.
我们期待着2月28日下周三迎来我们五年级的壁虎学子到访，这是五六年级三次升学过渡活动中的第二场。我们将在下周让五年级同学体验在网谷校区的学习，他们将现场跟随一位“真实”的中学同学，体验一天是如何运作的。

A reminder that Trimester 2 ends on February 29 and Trimester 3 begins on March 4. Any changes to Trimester 3 ASAs should be made by March 15 by emailing mliu03sis.org.cn or by submitting a Join Request on SchoolsBuddy.
提醒大家第二学期将于2月29日结束，第三学期将于3月4日开始。如需更改第三学期ASA，请您于3月15日前发邮件给mliu03sis.org.cn或在SchoolsBuddy上提交申请。
Parent Student Teacher Conferences

Believe it or not, Parent Student Teacher Conferences are right around the corner on March 21 & 22. On Friday next week, March 1, we will open sign-ups on SchoolsBuddy. Make sure to log-in early, as spots fill up fast. Additionally, we noticed that some parents lost spots because they did not “Confirm” and then “Book” in SchoolsBuddy; it is a double confirmation system.
