Dr. Wei got his doctoral degree at the University of Edinburgh, UK, in the mid-1980s. He taught in overseas universities and participated in cultural exchange activities between China and overseas.
Since 1992, he has served as Chief Examiner of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a member of the Curriculum Review Committee and the Board of Examiners, and a teacher training officer. He has also been involved in matters such as the review of teaching and examination syllabuses, the appointment of examiners, the online and offline training of IB teachers, consultation of the IBO leadership team and the online training of teachers around the world.
In 2009, he returned to China and has held many leadership positions in schools, as well as being an ambassador for the IBO in China and a senior counsellor and leader of many international schools in China and abroad.
Dr. Wei is also the founding member of the Chinese Association of International Educators.
