All things hide, the beginning of winter. From November 10th to 11th, a total of 1,000 faculty, parents, and student volunteers from nine ISA schools and programs in Wuhan and Guangzhou came together for the fifth ISAIEG Professional Learning Conference under the theme of  “Clarity, Consistency, Commitment, To Exceed Expectations”. We engaged in online and on-site learning activities focused on 165 topics of exploration and practical projects, aiming to create a collaborative and innovative learning community. With a consistent commitment to excellence, ISA moves forward united, working together to exceed expectations.

At the branch venue in ISA Wuhan, over 260 elite teachers from more than 30 countries and regions gathered to listen to the leadership of ISAIEG share about the group's organizational strategy and future development plans. They also had the privilege of hearing a wonderful speech delivered by Mr. Huafeng Ding, the Dean and Party Secretary of the Wuhan Institute of Education Science.

During this professional learning conference, the faculty of ISA Wuhan actively took on the role of community leaders and personally organized 55 different types of keynote speeches, thematic workshops, and activity evaluations. They enthusiastically shared their experiences accumulated in teaching practices, research projects, student management, cross-cultural communication, and multicultural community development. Alongside the professional learning sessions, all faculty members participated in various team-building activities and a musical banquet, fostering friendship and connections among colleagues while enhancing team cohesion and teaching quality comprehensively.

Mr. David Mansfield, the Chief Academic Advisor of the Board and Strategic Advisor of ISAIEG, delivered a keynote speech on "What Makes a Successful Education Group", in the reshaped landscape of China's education market amid the pandemic, ISAIEG, as an emerging force, is striving to establish its position. According to Mr. David Mansfield, regardless of how ambitious the vision and mission of an education group may be, the key to success lies in the management of "people" – particularly in the care and interaction with students, faculty, and parents.

With this goal in mind, Mr. David Mansfield shared his guiding recommendations for the next five years, focusing on optimizing and improving the organizational structure of the education group, setting and assessing annual development goals for schools, and fostering professional development and management practices for faculty members. These efforts aim to ensure that ISA schools and programs become nurturing environments for the collective growth of students, faculty, and parents, and flourishing incubators for their development.

As a pioneer of international education in the Central China region, Mr. Frank Li, the Superintendent of ISA Wuhan School, also shared his insights and experiences with the attending faculty and staff. He emphasized, "ISA is driven by the belief of establishing a world-class centennial school. Education requires our entire ISA team to be a united family, with one heart, one purpose, and one goal. Each person should have a spirit of dedication and ownership. I hope that everyone dares to take the lead so we can forge ahead against the challenges, grounded with a sense of responsibility. Let us continue to surpass ourselves at ISA and strive to be the best versions of ourselves."

Mr. Huafeng Ding, the President and Party Secretary of the Wuhan Education Science Research Institute, was specially invited to attend the conference. He delivered a captivating keynote speech titled "Teacher Professional Development for the Future," addressing the school's pursuit and values in professional development, future trends in education, and providing recommendations for the professional growth of all ISA Wuhan staff.

He emphasized the importance of placing professionals in their respective roles within school management, allowing them to excel in their areas of expertise. Particularly in the era of smart education, schools should prioritize student-centered teaching, implement comprehensive learning assessments for holistic development, provide high-tech intelligent learning environments, and consistently improve educational culture. Mr. Huafeng Ding further emphasized the unwavering commitment to inclusive and equitable education.

Mr. James Morris, the Head of ISA Wuhan International School and Co-Head of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School, led six groups of subject teachers from international schools and Wenhua School's kindergarten, primary, middle, and high schools to share excellent teaching cases. It is well known that professional learning is at the core of outstanding organizations.

With topics ranging from "Student-centered learning in practice by using the inquiry cycle in EY2" to "Reading Month in the International School," "Artistic Creation Practice," "Transdisciplinary Inquiry in Grade 2 - How We Organize Ourselves," "Media Literacy Teaching Based on Interdisciplinary Theories of Sociolinguistics," and "Using 5E Model in Math Teaching," the speakers combined their daily teaching practices to deliver fascinating academic presentations. Through these exchanges, participants gained innovative ideas and engaged in profound reflections on creating high-quality teaching classrooms.

In this professional learning conference, experienced administrators, department leaders, and teaching staff from different academic departments actively organized close to 60 themed learning seminars.

The speakers, drawing from their own management and teaching experiences, delivered lively, interesting, and highly professional content sharing. The topics covered a wide range, including leadership development, fostering interpersonal relationships, SWOT analysis of competitive schools, curriculum and project training, cultivating international awareness, and Blue Sky career development. Employees from various departments actively participated in interactions, exchanging and sharing their educational and business philosophies through group discussions and creative activities. Their active involvement brought fruitful practical significance to the development of the ISA Wuhan community and its enterprises.
