On December 2nd, the "ISA Festival," the annual community celebration at the ISA Wuhan Education Campus, took place as winter came to a close, culminating in a resounding success. Over 30 countries, more than 2,000 ISA students, parents, consulates, chambers of commerce, returned overseas Chinese, representatives of well-known enterprises, and elites from all walks of life who wish to participate in the deep integration of world cultures around the world gathered at ISA Wuhan once again.

During the charity bazaar, high-tech project exhibitions, event performances, flash mob shows, students' works exhibitions, and other diverse festive activities, we will explore the new mode of future education together, and experience ISA's multicultural and holistic campus.

The Multinational Charity Bazaar is now in its 6th year as a traditional part of all ISA Festivals. In the charity bazaar, students combine holistic education, community bonding and public charity. The proceeds from the booths and all the proceeds from the event will be donated to the ISA Charity Fund.

The ISA Family Committee, composed of elite families from over 30 countries worldwide, plays a key role in the Charity Bazaar. The Committee planned nearly 100 kinds of featured stalls and produced by combining the creativity and ingenuity of their respective cultural backgrounds. Among the booths, the vegetable selling activity jointly organised by the ISA Wuhan Student Union and the Committee is quite eye-catching.

 A sixth-grade student from ISA Wenhua Wuhan School collaborated with her mother to contribute RMB 15,000 worth of agricultural products to the event. Students sold their vegetables in the charity market, playing the role of small vegetable farmers, helping to revitalise the countryside, promoting healthy and green dietary concepts, gaining diversified life experiences, and allowing home-school education to take place any time.

How many steps does it take to move to Mars and build a city? The blueprint on Mars, drawn up by the ISA Wuhan students, unfolded in the Black Box Theatre. Entering the theatre, it’s like you are in a large-scale Mars simulation. Colourful lights flashed under the black curtain as if they were the stars from the universe, and the gravel and lava on the surface of Mars were imitated to create the real Mars atmosphere. Students from G4 to G11 staged a 5D immersive performance themed on "A Ticket To Mars" and recreate the process of how to build a city on Mars.

The entire speech commences in 2059, where humanity selects the finest politicians, scientists, engineers, architects, doctors, economists, agricultural scientists, and artists from around the globe to form a "Mars Expedition" team that will travel to Mars to build a "new nation".

A group of young explorers from ISA Wuhan took the Road to Mars (G10), Human Character in the Future World (G4), Martian Kingdom (G9-G11), Martian Cities (G5-G6), Martian Agriculture and Ecology (G7-G8), and Martian Intelligence (G11) as the topics of the project, and mobilised their accumulated knowledge of different disciplines to produce a large number of highly imaginative and highly applicable "spaceship models", "three-dimensional diagrams of the Martian city layout", "solar energy and other power supply system installations", "Martian base transport schematic diagrams", and "human base domestic sewage filtration systems". etc.

The project-based learning method is used to link up the previously learnt knowledge from interdisciplinary courses in mathematics, physics, economics, mixed materials, drawing, science, social studies, and other related subjects. In the most intuitive and vivid way, it demonstrates the unique philosophy of ISA Wuhan, which advocates inquiry-based, project-based, concept-driven STEAM education, and emphasises the importance of applying acquired knowledge to solve real-life problems.

For the junior students involved in the construction of the "Mars Country", the school encourages children's curiosity and scientific innovation from an early age. By drawing the city of Mars and mimicking the language of space creatures, the children express their whimsical ideas about travelling to space and the future world, demonstrating that the school focuses on the holistic cultivation of students in various aspects such as teamwork, public speaking, and leadership, and empowers the early cultivation of future top-notch innovative talents.

Except charity bazaar and interdisciplinary project speech, the student performance was also very exciting. In ISA Festival, all members of the ISA community prepared with their show with the theme as “Mission To Infinity”. The audience felt as if they were in the ISA spaceship, in the rich and colorful stage performances, they travelled to galaxy, and experienced different civilisations on different planets. Then, they reflected on the culture of earth, and realised different beauty in the universe.

The violin ensemble from ISA Wuhan International Primary School, incorporating laser drums and robotic dance, employed the language of music to engage in a dialogue with extraterrestrial intelligent beings. The Peking Opera Choir from ISA Wenhua Wuhan Primary School performed the Chinese classics "Dingjunshan", "The Red Queen" and "The Heavenly Maiden Scatters Flowers", inheriting China's romantic fantasy of the Milky Way and philosophical thoughts about the country in the performance. The Latin Dance, Havana, brought by the ISA Wenhua Wuhan Secondary School students mingled with the POPPING space step, ignited the whole auditorium.

Amid the grand performance, a touching presentation momentarily halted the space journey. In the project at the Wuhan School for Blind Children, consistently backed by the ISA Wuhan Charity Fund, students at the school for blind children made a deep friendship with ISA volunteers and brought the chorus performance, You Raise Me Up. All students perceived the gift of life with the power of music and wrote the hope for the future with touching melody.
