2021年5月22日，“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平院士与世长辞，这位在粮食安全和消除饥荒领域做出巨大贡献的伟人，永远地和我们说再见了。

“人就像一粒种子。要做一粒好的种子，身体、精神、情感都要健康。种子健康了，我们要每个人的事业才能根深叶茂，枝粗果硕。”

“你们都要好好吃饭，好好长大。”

袁老对青年们的嘱托言犹在耳，一粥一饭，当思来之不易，半丝半缕，恒念物力维艰。如果说珍惜粮食是莱克顿人应该拥有的对劳动最好的尊重精神，那么光盘行动珍惜每一粒粮食就是莱克顿人怀念这位科学巨匠的最好方式。在餐桌上，每一位莱克顿人合理规划取餐量，认真对待食物，还不时相互提醒，身体力行做到珍惜食物；在放置餐具时，对食物残渣也做了分类，时刻践行着“垃圾分类，人人有责”的义务。

Dress Code解密

在校期间的校服着装，代表象征着集体荣誉感和归属感，这对于学生的礼仪仪态可以起到内在的约束作用，潜移默化地培养学生们形成一种合作、团结互相尊重的团队文化和精神。为促进着装礼仪文化在学生生活中的传递，学校举办了以“Dress Code解密”为主题的着装礼仪培训。在培训中，老师分别以展现良好风范的男士和女士着装示范为引入，为同学们解读了不同场合的穿着说明标准。对在校期间校服搭配进行回顾展示的同时，还现场为学生示范并互动实践了不同领带打法、正装着装鞋袜的搭配和衬衣领袖整齐度展示。看着学生们在现场与老师兴致勃勃地互动，我们坚信莱克顿精神将伴随我们的学生在未来的人生中内心充盈，热爱生活，成就个人的精彩！

Empty Your Plate Action

On May 22th 2021, "Father of Hybrid Rice”, Mr Yuan Longping left us forever. This great man who made great contributions to food security and world famine passed away.

"An individual is like a seed. To be a good seed, you must be healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally. When the seed is healthy, later she or he will have deep roots and thick branches."

"I hope that you all eat well and grow up strong."

Mr Yuan's words to the young people are still echoing in our heart. We need to save food and understand the complicated process of food production. Saving food is the best thing we can do to show respect to people who've worked in the agriculture industry. Empty Your Plate action is a great initiative to honour one of the greatest scientists of our generation. On the kitchen table, every Luctonian learns to save food and they also remind each other of the importance of such a valuable habit. After finishing their meal, Luctonians sort out the food wastes to help canteen staff to recycle the wastes. Recycling is everyone's responsibility at Lucton.

Decoding the Dress Code at Lucton

Wearing school uniform entails a sense of collective honour and belonging which influence students’ behaviour and help cultivate values, such as, unity, cooperation and mutual respect. In order for students to know more about the dress appearance etiquettes at Lucton, we organized a training session for our students. During the training session, our teachers introduced different types of clothing and appeals for boys and girls.

They also explained different types of dress code on different occasions for our students. During the activity time, our students learnt how to wear ties differently and formally. Seeing our students so actively interacting with the teacher and with each other, we firmly believe that the Lucton spirits, which are, to live with full heart, to be passionate about life, and to achieve personal goals will be with our students in their future.
