近日，香港考试及评核局（简称“考评局”）公布了2022年DSE考试时间表，宣布明年DSE的整体考试时间将从4月22日（星期五）开始，近期ASJ后台也陆续收到许多观看了首场直播宣讲会家长朋友的提问，想要详细了解关于学校的DSE课程体系，下面我们就来一起看看吧~

The 2022 HKDSE examination timetable was released on April 22, 2022. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) announced that the examination will start on April 22, 2022 (Friday). Due to the overwhelming response received for our HKDSE High School programme, we have decided to provide more information on the programme here for you. 

DSE也称HKDSE，全称香港中学文凭试，由香港考试及评核局主办，2012年才开始全面实行的香港高考制度，是香港学生升读大学最主要的升学通道，简单来说就是“香港高考”。DSE属于高中课程体系，港籍学生一般从中四就开始就读，至中六应考DSE后可凭成绩申请中国香港本土、内地或海外其他地方的大学。

The HKDSE, also known as, DSE, was administered for the first time by The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority ( HKEAA) in 2012. The majority of students in Hong Kong apply to local or overseas universities using their HKDSE Examination results and, by the same token, the HKDSE is a Hong Kong-style entrance examination. ASJ's DSE Programme is designed for students from Grade 10 to Grade 12. Upon the completion of the programme, students will take the HKDSE Examination and apply to Hong Kong, Mainland, and overseas universities using the exam results.

DSE课程不设文理科限制，甲类高中科目共有24科，其中中国语文、英国语文、数学、公民与社会发展四科为核心科目，其他生物、化学、物理等20余科为选修科目。应考DSE考试只需四门主修科+2~3门选修科即可。

In the HKDSE programme, subject choices are not restricted by the arts and science streams. There are 24 senior secondary subjects with four core subjects and 20 elective subjects. In general, HKDSE candidates would take four core subjects plus two to three elective subjects.

DSE成绩不仅可以申请香港本地的大学，还可以申请包括新加坡、日本、英国、美国、澳大利亚、加拿大等众多国家的大学，目前全球有超过280多所大学认可DSE考试成绩。内地大学对DSE考试认可度也是逐年提升， 招收DSE港籍生的内地高校也从2019年的110所提升至2021年127所，其中包括北大、清华、复旦大学等内地顶尖名校。

Students taking the HKDSE can apply to both local and overseas universities using the HKDSE qualifications - indeed they can directly apply to 280 universities worldwide, including, but not limited to, Singapore, the UK, the US, Australia, and Canada. Besides, there has been a steady growth in the recognition of HKDSE qualifications among universities in Mainland - the number of higher education institutions that accept HDKSE results for admission applications has increased from 110 to 127 in 2021. 

Why DSE? Advantages of DSE over Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)?

①DSE考试升读内地高校竞争压力较小，众多知名大学录取门槛较低，例如北京大学2020年4科总分最低录取分数为23分、中山大学为14分、暨南大学为10分（满分28分）。

②相比港澳台联考，DSE的理科难度更容易，考试难度大致仅相当内地高一理科类水平。

③DSE升学出路相比港澳台联考更广，港籍考生除了可升学内地和香港本地，还可申请全球众多主流留学国家及地区。

①Getting into mainland universities via the DSE route is less competitive. Also, it is easier for the students to meet the entrance requirements of top universities through taking the DSE exam. For instance, of the students enrolled at Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Jinan University in 2020, the lowest DSE score was 23, 14, and 10 respectively. 

②The syllabus of  DSE science subjects is considered easier compared to JEE’s - the HKDSE science subjects syllabus is equivalent to the syllabus of Grade 11 in the Mainland.   

-③DSE candidates enjoy a wider range of choices in planning to pursue further studies. Besides, students from Hong Kong can apply to both local and overseas universities  

Does English play an important role in our DSE programme?

DSE考试，除英文科外，其余科目考生可根据自身学习情况，选择英文或中文进行考试作答，像许多一直在内地学习的“双非港宝”更可以直接使用日常习惯的简体中文进行答题。但是作答方式多元并不就意味着DSE英文学习非常简单，相反DSE考试对英文能力有一定要求。对于未来想要报读ASJ高中DSE课程的同学们来说，从小培养英语学习是至关重要的；对于不确定自己英语水平的中学生，则可预约ASJ的入学测试进行综合评估。

Apart from English Language, all DSE subjects can be taken either in Chinese or English. Students with lower levels of English proficiency can choose to take the course in Chinese. Moreover, writing simplified Chinese characters is allowed in DSE written exams. Although the HKDSE gives high flexibility to the candidates in terms of choosing the language for learning, we expect our students to have some comprehension of English.Students interested in our programme are advised to put continuous effort into learning English. Students are also welcomed to sign up for our admission exam to check their level of English.

What's the difference between studying the DSE program in ASJ and studying that in Hong Kong?

在ASJ就读的同学们，除了与香港学校学生接受相同的主科和选修科学习外，还将会接受ASJ原创核心素养课程及探索发现课程的学习，同学们将打下坚实的学术基础，并为未来学业深造做好准备。

The core subjects and elective subjects taught in our DSE programme are the same as those in the local schools in Hong Kong.  Apart from teaching the HKDSE subjects, ASJ offers a range of innovative Common Core and Inquiry-Based Learning Courses for students. These courses enable students to build a strong learning foundation and improve their academic skills related to their further study. 

How to excel in the DSE Programme? 

从学生自身来讲，最重要的当然是学好每一科课程，无论是四门主修还是其他选修科，都要一视同仁认真对待，需要足够自律，有坚持的毅力，有积极的主观能动性。尤其是许多常年在内地读书的学生来讲，理科类往往相较香港本地学生更有优势，但英语科水平却参差不齐，对于有偏科情况的同学们来说则更要加强对薄弱学科的针对性学习。

Students who study in the mainland are generally good at science subjects but weak at English. Despite the advantage in learning science subjects, students are advised to study all subjects equally instead of concentrating on the subjects of their interests. Moreover, self-discipline, perseverance, and motivation are key to success in improving academic performance.

如果现在学生还是小学或初中阶段的话，唯一的建议就是好好打好英语基础。学习是一个漫长的过程，学术水平的积累不是一蹴而就的事情，尤其是语言的学习，更加需要花费长时间的精力，所以如果在高中前就养成良好的口语习惯以及取得了良好的书写能力，对于高中DSE学习将是非常好的加分项。

Primary and junior secondary students interested in our programme should work productively at building a strong language foundation. When a skyscraper is under construction, the work begins with poring a foundation. The same thing is true when it comes to building our language skills. Students with strong oral and written language skills are more likely to succeed in the HKDSE.
