As we embrace a new beginning in 2022, we extend our best regards to you and your family. We would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that Ms. Beth Jones has been promoted to the position of Head of the ISA Tianhe International School of Guangzhou.

在2022年新篇章开启之际，我们很高兴与您分享关于Beth Jones女士晋升为广州天河爱莎外籍人员子女学校（以下简称 “天河爱莎学校” ）校长的消息。

ISA Tianhe was previously led by Mr. Michael Urquhart as the Head of School, with Ms. Beth Jones as the Principal of Primary and Early Years. Over the past year, the school has won the title of one of the “Hurun Education Top 20 International Schools in China of the Year of 2021” as well as being named a “New Insight International School”. In the same year, it successfully applied to be a LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) Test Center. In August 2021, students of ISA Tianhe won 16 medals in the finals of the SIMOC (Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge). Moreover, the school has held a variety of cultural, sports and art events, including Book Week; a PYP Exhibition with the theme of “Sharing the Planet”; the Mid-Autumn Festival Fair; an October Fun Day with a rainforest theme; Crazy Hair Day; Sports Day; as well as the ISA Festival. These activities have been inspiring our students to explore world cultures and become life-long learners.

在过去的一年，天河爱莎学校在校长Michael Urquhart先生与幼儿园及小学校长Beth Jones女士的领导下，学校被评为“2021胡润百学中国外籍人员子女学校前20强”，荣获“新锐国际学校”的称号，并成功申请成为LAMDA(伦敦音乐与戏剧艺术学院)考试中心。2021年8月，天河爱莎学子在新加坡国际数学奥林匹克挑战赛中斩获16枚奖牌。同时，学校组织了读书周、“共享地球”毕业展、中秋游园会、热带雨林趣味日、疯狂头发日、运动会、爱莎日庆典等多元文化、体育、艺术活动，带领学生探究世界文化，培养终身学习的世界人。

Given the needs of ISAIEG’s strategic plan, Mr. Michael Urquhart has been appointed Head of the ISA Liwan International School and Co-Head of ISA Wenhua Liwan School since January 2022. Meanwhile, he will step down as Head of the ISA Tianhe International School of Guangzhou. ISA Liwan is our new project scheduled to be launched in September 2022.

根据爱莎国际教育集团战略发展需求，集团决定自2022年1月起，任命Michael Urquhart为广州荔湾爱莎文华学校联席校长及广州荔湾爱莎外籍人员子女学校校长。同时他将卸任广州天河外籍人员子女学校校长一职。广州荔湾爱莎学校为集团旗下新开设的学校，将于2022年9月正式开学。

In the meantime, Ms. Beth Jones has been promoted to the position of Head of ISA Tianhe International School of Guangzhou. Ms. Beth Jones has more than 30 years of experience in international education and management. Having worked with ISA for almost 6 years, she has come to develop a deep connection with the school and its students and parents, while contributing remarkably to the school’s steady development. She will continue in her current position as ISAIEG’s Director of Marketing and Communications. With her professional experience in teaching and management, she will introduce new optimal practices and top educational resources to ISA Tianhe from the ISAIEG Headquarters and its schools. ISA Tianhe, under her leadership, will aim for new heights.

集团同时任命Beth Jones女士为广州天河外籍人员子女学校校长。Beth Jones女士拥有超过30年的国际教育与管理经验，加入爱莎近6年，对学校、学生和家长有深厚的感情，为学校的稳定发展作出了卓越贡献。Beth Jones同时还将继续兼任集团市场传讯总监一职。希望Beth Jones校长充分发挥其专业的教学与管理的经验，同时将集团总部及旗下各学校的办学优势和资源引入爱莎天河学校，带领学校实现新的发展目标。

We thank Mr. Michael Urquhart for his contribution to the steady growth of ISA Tianhe over the past two years. We also congratulate Mr. Michael Urquhart and Ms. Beth Jones on their new positions. Utilizing their expertise and passion in international education, they will continue to bring more quality educational experiences to students of the ISA community.

Mr Michael

After 2 ½ years it is time to bid farewell to my life as Head of School at ISA Tianhe. It’s been an incredible journey and as a lifelong IB Learner. I feel that the students, teachers and staff at ISA Tianhe have educated me to be a better Head of School.

经过了两年半时间，是时候告别我在天河爱莎学校的校长生涯了。作为一名IB终身学习者，这是一段令人难忘的旅程。天河爱莎学校的学生、老师和教职员工让我成为了一名更好的校长。

I have really enjoyed working with Ms. Beth who is such a passionate educational leader who deeply cares for all the students and staff. I will never forget her ringing regularly to check on my well-being during the initial COVID crisis and I know she will continue to grow our amazing school.

我非常享受与Beth女士共事。她是一位对教育充满热情的领导者，时刻关心着学生与家长们。我也不会忘记在疫情初期，她时常打电话关心我。我坚信她将继续带领天河爱莎学校走向更光明的未来。

I will miss our students like Cintty from EY2 asking me – why is milk white? I will also miss my daily good morning from Hugo in Y3 and his brother Hayden in EY2 along with my salute from William in Y1. I have had some interesting conversations with Sofia and Ayse from Y5 and I promise to be back for their PYP Exhibition.

我会想念与学生们度过的无数个美好瞬间，如EY2的Cintty曾问我“为什么牛奶是白色的？”；Y3的Hugo和他的弟弟Hayden每天早上都会向我问好；Y1的William向我敬礼。我还经常和Y5的Sofia和Ayse展开有趣的对话，我向他们承诺，一定回来参观他们的小学毕业成果展。

I have enjoyed working with our academic SLT Team of Angela, Ms. Fannie and Mr. Josh who is readying our teachers for the IB PYP Evaluation visit in March like a coach preparing a team for a football final.
