中学部| 学期结束,想深度了解孩子的学习情况?三方会谈帮到您!

2022年7月7日这天,ASJ中学部的教学楼里源源不断地传出令人欣慰的评语,这是本学期中学部举办的第二次三方会谈。


三方会谈是IB学习者社区中非常重要的一环,它将教师、学生、家长融为一体,共同学习与进步。



在会谈中,每个家庭拥有自己的专属沟通时间,教师首先以学期评估报告和期末成绩单为载体,以学生学科知识掌握、行为习惯改善、思想品德培养、课外活动参与等多个方面表现为重点,向家长介绍学生的综合情况;


接着学生向家长汇报本学期的学习与生活情况,分享自己的学习理解,积极地展示自己的探究作品,反馈自己的学习所得,以及总结自己的进步,反思哪些方面有待改进,再与家长、老师一起制定下一步目标;


最后教师和家长就孩子的综合表现进行现场的交流和反馈,指出今后努力的方向和措施。


“老师,我的孩子在课堂上活跃吗?”

“老师,我们应该怎么样做才能提升孩子的英语成绩?”

“Mrs Wu, Do you have any suggestions?”

“老师,我想暑假带孩子阅读,您可以推荐合适书目吗?”


这是家长们的心声。


通过这一场别开生面的家长会,加深了家长对孩子学习情况的认识,也了解到对孩子的评价原来不是只有分数,大家平等地交流,积极地参与到孩子的成长规划中,在交流中进一步了解了IB教育的体系和要求,知晓孩子在目前取得的进步和面临的挑战,从各个方面发现了孩子的闪光点。



我觉得能够和班主任还有任课老师一对一沟通非常好,我和孩子爸爸今天了解到了很多平时孩子不会反馈的信息,非常意外和惊喜。通过这个形式,我们可以更多地了解到孩子在学校的情况,以及加深跟学科老师联系,整体感受非常好。而且老师们都非常专业,非常负责。

我有两个孩子在ASJ上学,一个在小学部,一个在中学部。这两个孩子差异非常大。哥哥认真踏实且对自己要求高,弟弟相反,但是思维活跃,喜欢展现自己。他们都能在这里得到老师的重视,我们作为父母,很高兴看见孩子们能成长为一个负责、快乐的人。

"He is a student with a spirit of inquiry. He doesn't like simple and boring homework."




On July 7, 2022, gratifying comments were heard from ASJ Middle School Department. This was the Three-way Conference held by the Middle School Department this semester.


The Three-way Conference is an important part of the IB learner community as it integrates teachers, students and parents to learn and make progress together. 

During the meeting, each family has its own communication time. The teacher first takes the semester evaluation report and the final report card as the carrier, focusing on students' mastery of subject knowledge, improvement of behavior habits, ideological and moral cultivation, participation in extracurricular activities, etc., to introduce the comprehensive situation of students to parents. 


Then students reported to their parents on their studies and life of this semester, shared their own learning understanding, actively showed their research works and their learning gains, summarized their own progress, reflected on which aspects need to be improved, and then worked with parents and teachers to set the next goal.


Finally, teachers and parents conducted on-site communication on the comprehensive performance of the students, pointing out the direction and measures of future efforts.

"Teacher, is my child active in class?" 

"Teacher, what should we do to improve our children's English performance?" 

"Mrs Wu, Do you have any suggestions?" 

"Teacher, I want my children to read during the summer vacation. Can you recommend suitable books?"

 

These were the voice of parents. 


Through this unique parent meeting, parents had deepened their understanding of their children's learning situation and learned that the evaluation of their children was not via scores only. They could communicate equally with their children and participate actively in their children's growth planning. Moreover, they had further learned about the system and requirements of IB education, the progress they had made and the challenges they were facing. They had found their bright spots in all aspects.



I think it is very good to communicate with the homeroom teachers and the subject teachers one-on-one. Today, I learned a lot of information about my child and I got very surprised. Through this meeting, we can learn more about the situation of children in school, as well as deepen our contact with subject teachers. The overall feeling is very good as the teachers are very professional and responsible.

My two children are studying at ASJ, one in primary school and one in middle school. There is a great difference between the two children. The elder brother is serious, down-to-earth and has high demands of himself, while the younger brother is on the contrary, being active in thinking and keen on showing himself. They can all get the attention of their teachers here. As parents, we are glad to see that our children can grow into responsible and happy people.

I am very satisfied with the performance of my child! I met several teachers, and the teachers' evaluation of my children was very high, one after another praising her excellence and her sense of responsibility. I hope she can keep on improving herself. Her maths are relatively weak and she should put in more effort on this subject next semester.

I think such meetings are very helpful. To me, the teachers are very dedicated and we had good communication. I believe that students would have more sense of security and a sense of trust.

As the first school for Hong Kong and Macao students, we adhere to the educational concept that every student can become a talent. In order to develop the students' strengths and potential and make up for their weaknesses, we organized Three-way Conference.


Three-way Conferences are the most effective way of home-school communication, educating children and guiding parents. Only through effective home-school communication, mutual support and cooperation and the sharing of resources and information can we achieve the goal of working together and escorting students. 


The future of the students is shaped by all of us. Therefore, we hope that parents can take the situation of each child seriously. It is great to see that the Three-way Conference and family-school cooperation can help children understand themselves, cultivate their ability of expression and reflection, and enhance their sense of ownership of learning. 


We firmly believe that every child can be successful.
