LEH Appoints First Head of Prep School

佛山霍利斯预备学校首任校长

LEH International School Foshan is delighted to announce the appointment of our first Head of Prep School, Ms Mandy Bateman with effect from the start of the Autumn Term 2022. As part of the Senior Leadership Team at LEH, Ms Bateman will work closely with the School’s Headteacher and wider staff body to safeguard high-quality teaching and learning of our Pre School Programme as well as throughout the School.

佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校很高兴地跟大家宣布：Mandy Bateman 女士将于2022学年第一学期加入佛山霍利斯，担任预备学校校长一职。作为霍利斯高层领导团队的一员，Mandy Bateman女士将会与校长Jane Arden女士及全体教职员工紧密合作，确保为我们的学生带来高质量的英式课程教学。

Ms Bateman is a well experience school educator and leader with 23 years of experience in the UK, Portugal, and Egypt. Her journey in education has been varied, starting as a class teacher, and working in many different educational settings. In 2009 she set up an independent school in the UK as the founding Headteacher and she has been in leadership roles, ever since.

Bateman女士是一位经验丰富的教育家和领导者，在英国、葡萄牙和埃及有23年的工作经验。她的教育工作资历十分深厚，曾在不同教育环境中担任教师；2009年，她在英国创立了一间独立学校并担任创校校长，自此开始领导学校运营。

In her last position, Ms Bateman worked as a Head teacher of Early years foundation stage (EYFS) and Primary 6 form entry school at a well-regarded British International School in Cairo, Egypt. 

在来到佛山霍利斯之前，Bateman女士在埃及开罗一所享有盛誉的英国国际学校担任幼年基础阶段（EYFS）和小学六年级的校长。

My approach as a Head is of a transformational leadership style. I have ethical standards that inspires trust and respect as a mentor. I am a leader who is enthusiastic and optimistic, I am a good listener who recognises everyone's need to achieve but also appreciates the differences in others. I trust my team, I offer training, whilst being supportive and delegating to enable the trust. I care about staff and pupils and always try to protect their welfare, safety and needs.  I encourage creativity and I am always open to new ideas for school improvement. I want to make a difference. I also have excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour. I am comfortable with diversity and can inspire colleagues do their best. I have a humane and caring style I always present a positive, pro-active, and caring approach. I make the time to speak with students, teachers, and parents. Get to know and value them by developing authentic relationships. Making sure I manage others and my own health, well-being, and energy levels.

作为一名校长，我属于变革型领导。我有自己的道德守则，以导师的角色来鼓励人们之间信任和尊重。我是一个始终保持热情和乐观的领导者，会细心耐心聆听他人的声音，能站在他人的立场思考问题，尊重每个个体的差异。我信任我的团队，并为他们提供培训、支持，在这个过程中建立和加深信任。我关心员工和学生，竭力保障他们的安全、福祉和基本需求。我鼓励创新，对能够新想法始终保持开放的态度。我希望能够通过我的努力让我所在的学校变得更好。我有出色的人际交往能力和良好的幽默感，鼓励发展多样性，并会不断激励同事们尽其所能。我推崇人性化关怀，以积极、主动和关爱的态度待人接物。我会抽出时间与学生、教师和家长交谈，了解并重视他们的需求，与他们建立良好关系。我也会确保他人，同时也确保自己的健康、幸福和良好的精神状态。

The opportunities and possibilities of the 21st Century are exciting and empowering. Having the ability to think outside the box is a powerful tool, I often can be seen thinking outside the box and creating ideas in everyone else. Creativity and innovation are great ways to manage the disruptions and complexities of the 21st Century, I can empower students and teachers to be resourceful, flexible, creative, to think like entrepreneurs and develop global partners and resources to succeed in our ever-changing world. Developing the school as an entrepreneurial organisation by being inspiring, I address teachers, students, and parents with speeches about noble 21st century educational possibilities, highlighting the school’s vision and mission. 

21世纪蕴含无数的机会和可能性，令人激动、充满雄心壮志，但同时也充满干扰和复杂性，这就需要以创造力和创新来应对。创造性思考是一种强大的能力，别人也常评价我具有这种能力。我能够激励学生和教师变得更加机敏和灵活，更具有创造性，用企业家的角度来思考，在全球范围内建立合作和寻找资源，以在不断变化的世界中取得成功。我时常向老师、学生和家长们讲述学校的使命和理念，分享21世纪教育的无限可能性。当我们以昂扬向上的姿态、企业家的格局和视野不断前进，我们定能把学校建设得越来越好。

I am married with 3 children, all girls who are now grown and making their way in the 21st century. Over the years we have fostered at least 65 children from all over the globe. I love martial arts, horse riding, traveling, live music and dancing. Oh, I also like to sing (but it’s very bad). My favourite quote is “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart” by Helen Keller.

我已经结婚并养育了3名女儿，她们现在也在茁壮成长中拥抱21世纪。多年来，我和我的丈夫至少助养了65个来自全球各地的孩子。我喜欢武术、骑马、旅行、现场音乐和舞蹈。我还喜欢唱歌（虽然歌技不精）。我最喜欢的一句话是海伦·凯勒的“世上最美好的事物看不见也摸不着，我们只能用心去感受它们。”

2022-2023 Admissions Open Now

Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) International School Foshan is now accepting applications from Year 4 to Year 13 (age 8-18) for the 2022-2023 Academic Year starting in August 2022. We encourage interested families to submit their children’s application as early as possible as placed are limited for certain year levels.

佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校现正接受4-13年级（8-18岁）学生2022-2023学年入学申请，开学时间为2022年8月。由于个别年级的学位紧张，我们鼓励有意向的家庭尽早为孩子申请报名。
