LEH International School Foshan is excited to announce the upcoming arrival of many talented and experienced British Teachers to join our Prep School Team in August.
The past year has been filled with tremendous growth and expansion for our Prep School, setting the stage for an even more extraordinary journey ahead. As we eagerly anticipate the opening of Year 2 in School Year 2023-24 and the introduction of many exciting new facilities, including the outdoor playground, these new additions will further strengthen our teaching faculty, enabling us to provide all students with an enhanced and exceptional British education experience.
One aspect that sets us apart from other institutions is our unwavering focus on maintaining a team comprised entirely of British teachers. This ensures that our students receive the highest quality education infused with authentic British teaching practices. With the addition of these talented educators, our students will have more opportunities to benefit from their collective extensive experience and expertise. Moreover, they will be fully immersed in an environment that authentically reflects the rich traditions and values of British education.
Enhanced Learning Support
To ensure the highest level of support and personalised instruction for our growing and diverse student body, we have also expanded our team to include more new English Language Learner (ELL) teachers and Teaching Assistants (TAs). These dedicated professionals will work collaboratively with our British Teachers, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can flourish.
Introducing Our New Teachers
It is my great pleasure to be able to introduce you all to the new LEHF Prep school teachers. Their great teaching skills and experiences will enhance our current team further. I am sure you will all give them a great LEH welcome.
Mr Lodge, who is a dedicated and experienced Prep School Teacher, will bring his passion for education and 10+ years of teaching expertise to LEH Foshan. Previously a Homeroom Teacher and Supervisor in Foshan, he created nurturing environments and delivered exceptional instruction. He guided students to achieve Trinity College London Drama Certificates and developed engaging resources for home learning, enhancing vocabulary, reading, and phonics skills. With a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Durham University, Mr Lodge offers a unique combination of knowledge. As a qualified English as a Foreign Language teacher, he is devoted to fostering a love for language in his students; Mr Lodge's exceptional teaching skills and ability to develop a high-quality curriculum will contribute to maintaining a high standard of education at LEH Foshan.
Ms Wilkinson will join LEH Foshan Prep School in August 2023 as the new Year 2 Prep Teacher. Ms Wilkinson is an enthusiastic and reflective early career teacher with nearly 10 years' experience in education in the UK. Holding a bachelor's degree in Primary Physical Education and Sports Coaching as well as a PGCE Primary Certificate from Leeds Trinity University. She brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. With a passion for teaching young learners and experience in this area, she is knowledgeable in fostering the learning of children from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Her expertise, positive relationships, and dedication will make her an asset to LEH Foshan Prep School.
Mr Corr will join LEH Foshan Prep School as an experienced and passionate Year 6 teacher. Throughout his career in education, he has taught in English schools and has a background in teaching English to Chinese students both in China and online. Mr Corr brings a diverse range of teaching experiences, particularly in conversation. Before joining LEH Foshan, he excelled in teaching and planning engaging lessons for young students at a junior school in Ireland, aligning them with the National curriculum standards. Holding a PGCE with QTS from Leeds Beckett University and a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management from Northumbria University, Mr Corr’s expertise and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the success of our students.
Mr Smale, an experienced and dedicated music teacher from the UK, will join LEH Foshan as the Head of Prep Music. With 20 years of teaching experience, he strongly believes in providing excellent music education for all students. Mr Smale's passion lies in co-curricular music, directing choirs, orchestras, rock bands, and percussion ensembles. As a music examiner for Trinity College London since 2005, he has assessed students in over 25 countries, gaining experience in cultural diversity. He has also contributed as a consultant for Trinity's Percussion syllabus. A Kodály practitioner, Mr Smale has successfully implemented a growing Pupil Premium intervention. His expertise and commitment will nurture students' musical talents and inspire a love for music at LEH Foshan.
Ms Johnson will join LEH Foshan and work as an Art Consultant within the Prep School, bringing over 25 years of teaching experience from diverse countries like Pakistan, Switzerland, Egypt, UAE, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China. Previously a Class Teacher at a renowned British School in China, she successfully created an engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters student success through feedback and growth. Her true passion lies in igniting young minds with the benefits of art, nurturing curiosity, and fostering enthusiasm. Ms Johnson holds a Diploma in Textile Design and Technology from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and a TEFL qualification from the University of Portsmouth with expertise in English language proficiency and special educational needs. Her expertise, skills and experience will contribute to inspiring a love for art among our Prep students at LEH Foshan.
