“为什么会全球变暖?”“冰川融化会带来怎样的后果?”“生活中怎样减少垃圾的产生?” 想要回答这些问题,武汉爱莎文华的小学生们给出了他们自己的答案。1月5日起,武汉爱莎文华小学举行 “UOI探究单元开放月活动”, 通过绘画展、学生演讲、实验展示、互动游戏、家长课堂等形式,为爱莎社区成员及校外家长,进行了全面的探究课程结题展示。

"Why is there global warming?" "What are the consequences of melting glaciers?" "How can we reduce the amount of rubbish in our lives?" To answer these questions, the primary students of ISA Wenhua Wuhan Primary School gave their own answers to the questions. On January 5th, ISA Wenhua Wuhan held the "UOI Open Month Activity", through the drawing exhibition, student presentations, experimental demonstrations, interactive games, parents' classroom, etc., for the members of the ISA community and parents from outside the school, a comprehensive demonstration of the complete inquiry course.

在UOI探究课程中成为终生学习者

ISA Wenhua Wuhan Primary School uses the Chinese National Curriculum as its main line of emphasis and the IB PYP curriculum as its teaching framework. The IB PYP UOI is a student-centred programme with an inter-disciplinary theme of inquiry, which is an important part of the IB curriculum framework.

该课程每年涵盖六大主题,每个主题都要持续六周学习,并有六个具体的步骤。例如,在六年级结题展前后,三四年级也会先后进行主题为“我们如何表达自己”的结题展,学生们将会通过制作世界名画T恤、制作桥梁和建筑模型等方式,展现艺术与科学的融合之美。

The programme covers six themes each year, each of which is studied over six weeks and has six specific steps. For example, before and after the Year 6 final exhibition, Years 3 and 4 will also have a final exhibition on the theme of "How do we express ourselves?", where students will demonstrate the beauty of the fusion of art and science by making T-shirts of world famous paintings and building model bridges and buildings.

在1月10日的开放月活动中,六年级学生围绕他们在现阶段的课程主题“共享地球”, 开展了名为“与自然交互——探究地球生态运转奥秘”的结题展,成为了父母的“小老师”,在家长课堂中,充分展现自己对知识的掌握和运用,与父母一起探究大千世界的知识,滋养亲子友谊。

In the Open Month activity on 10 January, Year 6 students carried out a final exhibition entitled "Interacting with Nature - Investigating the Mysteries of the Earth's Ecological Functioning", focusing on the theme of the current stage of the curriculum, "Sharing the Earth", and became "Little Teachers" for their parents, demonstrating their mastery and application of knowledge in the Parents' Classroom, and exploring the knowledge of the world with them, so as to nourish the friendship between them.

学生用自己制作的PPT讲述地球面临的环境挑战,自己剪辑视频,直观反映海平面上升的危害,还有学生通过化学实验演示了二氧化碳的产生过程。共同呼吁,低碳生活,从我做起,提高物品使用率降低垃圾的产生,节约用纸保护森林……

Students used their own PPTs to talk about the environmental challenges facing the Earth, edited their own videos to visually reflect the dangers of rising sea levels, and students demonstrated the process of carbon dioxide production through chemical experiments. Jointly calling for a low-carbon life, starting from themselves, improving the use of goods to reduce the production of rubbish, save paper to protect the forest ......

“整个课题家长都没有参与,孩子们相互配合,自己查资料、做实验、做PPT、写文稿,最终能够自信大方地展示。” 武汉爱莎文华小学六年级Shine同学的妈妈说。” 在UOI探究课程中没有标准答案,孩子们不用死记硬背,却在课程进展中锻炼了资料搜集能力、科学探究能力、团队合作能力、语言表达能力等等,我认为这些正是他们终身发展应该必备的能力。”

"Parents were not involved in the whole subject, and the children co-operated with each other, looked up information, did experiments, made PPTs and wrote manuscripts on their own, and were finally able to present confidently and generously." G6 Shine's mother, said." There are no standard answers in the UOI inquiry programme, the children don't have to learn by rote, but they exercise their data collection skills, scientific inquiry skills, teamwork skills, language expression skills and so on during the progress of the programme, which I think are exactly the abilities they should be required for their lifelong development."

“从自己探究中收获的知识和提升的能力,是最珍贵的。” 武汉爱莎文华学校副校长、武汉爱莎文华学校小学部杨红校长说。在学校,每个年级每周固定开设六节UOI探究课,学生通过为前期导入、收集资料、整理资料、深入研究、得出结论,到最终采取行动,全部由自己主导,教师采用引导式教学。学生们在活动中研究、行动和反思,从而掌握跨学科知识和技能,提高自己的思维能力、学习能力,激发学习主动性。

"The knowledge gained and the ability enhanced from one's own enquiry is the most precious." said Yang Hong, Deputy Head of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School and Principal of ISA Wenhua Wuhan Primary School. At the school, six UOI inquiry lessons are fixed every week for each grade, in which students take the lead through for pre-introduction, gathering information, organising information, conducting in-depth research, drawing conclusions, and finally taking action, all on their own, with the teacher adopting a guided approach to teaching. Students research, act and reflect on their activities, thereby acquiring interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, improving their thinking and learning abilities, and stimulating learning initiative.
