On 15 November 2024, the entire LEH Foshan community came alive with vibrant energy to celebrate Founder’s Day 2024. The campus was transformed into a hub of activity, showcasing the talents and collaborative spirit of our Houses through enthusiastic competitions in sports and music.
Headteacher Mrs Arden addressed the ceremony with inspiring words:
This is a special day in our calendar—a time to honour the values that shape our school community and reflect on the journey we have embarked on together. It is wonderful to see everyone here today as we come together to celebrate Founder’s Day. Today, we proudly celebrate our 8C values: Communication, Commitment, Curiosity, Collaboration, Craftsmanship, Compassion, Confidence, and Creativity. These qualities guide us and help us grow. Through the House system, we learn the importance of community, friendship, and collective spirit. Let’s cheer each other on, savour every moment, and create fantastic memories together.
Celebrating Teamwork and Unity
Our PE department transformed the sports field into an exciting playground of adventure and teamwork. They introduced a captivating array of games that challenged both mind and body: navigating through a maze, racing in the sponge relay, trusting peers in the blind trail, overcoming challenges in the obstacle relay, and more. Each activity was designed not only for enjoyment but also to encourage teamwork within the Houses and healthy competitions. The laughter and cheers that echoed across the fields were a testament to the joy these games inspired.
Creative Performances and Pride
In the House Music Competition, the four Houses from both the Prep and Secondary schools took the stage with creative musical performances. The Prep School Houses infused youthful energy into their renditions of "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I, while the Secondary School Houses offered unique interpretations of "Royals" by Lorde. Students showcased their creativity by blending these popular songs with dynamic dance movements, delivering performances that were both engaging and innovative. These efforts not only captivated the audience but also strengthened the bonds and spirit of each House.
As the sun began to set, marking the culmination of a day filled with joy and camaraderie, the school community gathered for a heartfelt closing ceremony. The event celebrated not just the House achievements of the day but the House spirit that had been strengthened among students, staff, and families.
We were especially delighted to welcome back Mrs Hanbury, former Head Mistress at LEH London (2014–2023), to our vibrant campus. Having attended our inaugural Founder’s Day in 2023, Mrs Hanbury expressed her joy at witnessing the school’s growth and spirit. She remarked,
former Head Mistress
at LEH London (2014–2023)
The school is clearly going from strength to strength, and not only academically. Watching the students of LEH Foshan enjoy their sport and music today fills me with delight – LEH Foshan is clearly following in the footsteps of its mother school in London, where sport and music are both very important.
The Founder’s Day 2024 concluded with a resounding sense of unity and optimism. As we reflect on this unforgettable day, we are reminded of the strength found in unity and the joy that comes from being part of a supportive and thriving community. With hearts full of inspiration and minds set on the future, we eagerly anticipate next year’s Founder’s Day already!
