以赛带练,玩转全球数学竞赛|Excellent mathematics education

2022年美国初高中数学建模竞赛于11月15日正式落下帷幕。

从11月2日至11月15日,中学部来自初中段及高中段共24名学者分成7个小组参加了此次竞赛。


这是华曜学者第三年参加美国数学建模竞赛。Mark Chen及Leo Li同学已经是第三次参加这个比赛了。


七个竞赛小组都于11月15日晚成功提交了他们答卷。

American High School & Middle School Mathematical Contest in Modeling has finished.From November 2 to November 15, seven groups with 24 scholars from both upper gradesand middle grades of secondary school participated in this contest.

This is the third year that our scholars participate in American Mathematical Contest inModeling. From the papers that they submit, we can clearly see their progress. For instance,Mark Chen and Leo Li,  both attended this contest three times.

All seven groups successfully submitted their papers on time the evening ofNovember 15.

美国初高中数学建模比赛是很好的一种基于问题的学习形式,因此狄邦华曜非常重视这项比赛。

一般来说,数学比赛以个人参赛居多,而在美国初中、高中数学建模比赛中,学生是以小组合作的形式参加。

这种形式与他们未来在大学里的学习很相似,也与毕业后的工作很相似。此外,这次竞赛也培养学者们解决问题的能力,批判思维能力及创造性思维能力。同时,他们也学到了如何写学术性论文。

American Mathematical Contest in Modeling for middle school and high school is an excellent problem-based learning form, and our school attaches great importance to this competition. Most of the mathematical competitions are held by individuals, while in this contest, scholars participate in the form of group cooperation.We attach great importance to this contest because it requires teamwork to complete atask, which is similar to what their future college study will be like, as well as their work aftergraduation. In addition, participating in the contest can foster scholars’ problem-solvingskills, critical thinking, and creative thinking skills. They also learn how to write academicpapers.

在竞赛之前,数学组会组织专门的培训。一般是以2015年的美国高中数学建模比赛题目为例,给学者细致讲解当年的优秀论文。学者需要掌握两个技能,一是如何建立数学模型,二是如何写规范的学术论文。

学者们和老师们利用课余时间参加此项比赛,在10天的窗口期完成了所有的比赛要求。

Before the competition, the math department will organize special training. In general, the topic of the 2015 American High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling is taken as an example to explain the outstanding papers of that year to scholars in detail. Scholars need to master two skills, one is how to establish mathematical models, the other is how to write standardized academic papers. Scholars take part in the competition in their spare time and complete all the competition requirements in a 10-day window.

我校中学部组织学生参加以下数学竞赛

·      美国数学竞赛AMC 8,每年1月

·      加拿大滑铁卢数学竞赛,每年4月

·      澳大利亚数学竞赛,每年9月

·      美国数学竞赛AMC 10/12,每年11月

·      美国初中、高中数学建模比赛,每年11月

·      英国UKMT数学竞赛(初级每年4月、中级每年2月、高级每年10月)

中学部数学组为学者们提供专门的竞赛培训,安排在每周一、三、五下午的答疑时间,以及下午的延展课时间。
