About Darek
During my 29 year-long career I have taught English to different age groups, including young learners, teenagers and adults at different levels, from elementary to Cambridge FCE, Cambridge Advanced, Business English, and IELTS.

My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds worldwide, including South Americans, Europeans and Asians. Working and interacting with such diverse groups has made me more aware of different cultural and personal needs that students may demonstrate in terms of their learning styles and classroom expectations.

I think I am a teacher who is able to guide the students towards their own personal discovery of their preferred learning style and I will use various methods and techniques to create a favourable, student-centered environment to make language learning an exciting and stimulating adventure.

Yes I do like Cardiff Shanghai, I’ve been with the school for the past five years. I really like the place, I like the place, I like the teachers that I work with my colleagues, I like the students very much.

The facilities here on campus are great. We’ve got a very good very well equipped library, we’ve got great exposed facilities, there are places where students can hang out and spend the time.

So yeah it’s a great place to be at and work for.

How to learn English well？
The most important thing in learning English is, for students, not to be afraid to try and use the language. Particularly Asian students are tend to be very shy at first, and to feel confident enough to use English and to speak English, to communicate in English.
对学生而言，学习英语最重要的是不要害怕去尝试说和使用这门语言。特别是亚洲学生，他们总是非常害羞，总要等到自己有足够的自信时才愿意去使用英语交流。
Try to overcome the barrier.

Try not to be afraid to speak.
尽量不要害怕说英语
Also you need to expose yourself to English, in other words, because you are in China, you are not really surrounded, you know, by English on everyday basis.
换句话说，你需要让自己去接触英语。因为在中国，你不是每天都被英文环境所包围。
You need to create an English speaking environment in which you will try to, sort of like a function and that can be by reading books in English, by watching programs on television in English, by watching English films, by listening to English songs, by trying to make friends with people in other countries who speak English, and that way you can communicate with them.
你需要创造一个说英语的环境，在这个环境中你会去尝试。就像换一种方式，比如读一些英文原版书，观看英语电视节目，观看英文（无字幕原版）电影，听英文歌……还有多交一些说英语的外国朋友，通过这种方式与他们交流。
In other words, try to expose yourself to English as many different forms and ways as possible.
换句话说，尽可能多的尝试让自己接触尽可能多的不同形式和方式的英语环境。
