给学生们上的第一堂中文语言课，就是让同学们直面内心的声音，对于他们自己而言，中文课的意义是什么，古诗词的意义是什么，文学作品的意义是什么。

学生们面面相觑，可能确实没有思考过这个问题。很多疑问频出，既是要出国的学生，学习英文不就好了，花这些功夫学国文，是否必要吗？是让我们去搬运这些难啃的大石头吗？是校长煞费苦心把中文设立成必修吗？

学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆。学生们托着腮帮子，开始沉思。

“学习古诗词，利于培养我们的想象力和创造性思维，使我们受到美的熏陶，更能汲取古人的有益精髓，弘扬民族传统文化。”

中华文化源远流长，博大精深，古诗词作为中国优秀传统文化的一部分，有着其自身的历史意义和现实意义。另外，古诗不仅体现诗人对社会事物、人情哲理的深刻认识，更是千百年来劳动人民的思想结晶。它能让学生珍惜新生活，激发学生的爱国热情以及思乡惜友之情。同时也能教给学生阐事明理、为人处世之道，并在潜移默化中影响着学生的思想道德素质形成。

文学是人类感情的最丰富最生动的表达，是人类历史最形象的诠释，一个民族的文学，是这个民族的历史。一个时代的优秀文学作品，是这个时代的缩影，是这个时代的心声，是这个时代千姿百态的社会风俗画和人文风景线，是这个时代的精神和情感的结晶。优秀的文学作品传达着人类的憧憬和理想，凝聚着人类美好的感情和灿烂的智慧，阅读优秀的文学作品，对了解历史，了解社会，了解自然，了解人生的意义，是一件大有裨益的事情。

此时，正是花开的季节。一杯花茶，一份书卷。希望学生们都像花儿一样绽放出美丽，智慧和坚韧。阳光正好，少年们沐浴在晨光中，放下所有的忧虑，卸下所有的压力，深吸一口气，舒展开身子，品茗，沉思，奋笔疾书，写下他们满意的答卷。莱克顿，陪你走过最美的青葱年华，向往着远方和梦想的同时，也可以慢下来，静静享受眼前的诗书和清茶。

At Lucton, Y 10 and Y 11 have to learn IGCSE Chinese, including guided reading and writing ,and classical Chinese. Y 12 and Y 13 have to study A level Chinese, including reading and writing, and literature. They are all compulsory subjects abided by Lucton’s motto - International Mind and Chinese Heart.

The first Chinese class for students is to let students face their inner voice. For themselves, what is the meaning of Chinese class, ancient poetry and literary works.

The students looked at each other and probably never thought about it. Many voices are murmuring. It is good for students who want to go abroad to learn English. Is it necessary to spend these efforts learning Chinese? Is it the education bureau that is making us to swallow these big stones alive? Is it the headmaster who spare no effort to make Chinese a compulsory course to make your student life difficult?

Learning without thinking will get lost, and thinking without learning will be at danger.

The students held their cheeks and began to take these questions seriously.

"Learning ancient poetry is conducive to cultivating our imagination and creative thinking, edifying us with beauty and art, absorbing the beneficial essence of the ancients and carrying forward the national traditional culture."

Chinese culture has a long history, broad and profound. Ancient poetry, as a part of China's excellent traditional culture, has its own historical and practical significance. In addition, ancient poetry not only reflects the poet's deep understanding of social things and human philosophy, but also the ideological crystallization of the working people for thousands of years. It can make students cherish their new life and stimulate students' patriotic enthusiasm and homesickness. At the same time, it can also teach students how to explain things clearly and behave in the world, and imperceptibly affect the formation of students' Ideological and moral quality.

"Studying literary allows us to have a direct conversation with the wise who have passed away for thousands of years. This can be a romantic encounter and adventure through time and space.”

Literature is the richest and most vivid expression of human feelings and the most vivid interpretation of human history. The literature of a nation is the history of the nation. The excellent literary works of an era are the epitome of this era, the voice of this era, the various social custom paintings and cultural landscapes of this era, and the crystallization of the spirit and emotion of this era. Excellent literary works convey the vision and ideal of mankind and embody the beautiful feelings and brilliant wisdom of mankind. Reading excellent literary is a great benefit to understand history, society, nature and the meaning of life.

Flowers are blooming now. A cup of tea, a literature book, to have a peaceful day. I hope the students will bloom beauty, wisdom and tenacity like flowers. The teenagers bathe in the sunshine, put down all their worries, take off all the pressure, take a deep breath, have a sip of tea, couldn’t stop writing until finishing the paper.
